Is this the right filter to install for hard water treatment ? House had 500 gallon tank fed by a well and with 2 inch piping in and out.

@lndsmn,
It is not a filter.

It is a 1.5 cuft softener with a Fleck 2510 metered control valve. Without knowing how hard the water is and how many people are in the house and how many bathrooms and what type of fixtures are in them, no one can tell you if it is the right size for your peak demand needs or if it will give you good or poor salt and water efficiency.

Do you want to be an independent DIYer or dependent on a local dealer for service and pay them whatever they want to charge you for it?

@lndsmn,
Upgrade to the 2510 SE Fleck valve and make sure you deal with a local company that sells, installs and services what they sell.
