@boomerang,
I recall taking 5 hours to do one load in the laundromat of a Japanese hotel. All the damn instructions were in fricking Japanese! I had to wait for my Japanese speaking friend to show me how to work it.

@boomerang,
Hello, because u r bored.

Quote:
4 hours to do 2 loads

In my experience, u don 't hafta hang around for that.
Hotels have people who pick up
and deliver your laundry, same day
( like a boomerang )
if u give it to them early enuf.

I gave them one of my suits to dry clean, in New Orleans.
Then there was a hurricane (not a bad one) with threats of evacuation.
I had the impression of on premises cleaning; not so.
The dry cleaner fled the hurricane, n I had to wait a week
to get my clean suit back. Good thing I was scheduled
to remain there that long anyway.

Did I tell u my favorite magic trick, Boomerang ?
I saw this in Las Vegas, in the Flamingo, around 20 years ago.
New magician; young blond guy. With $10 to the usher,
I was leaning on the stage in my seat, great vu.
He shows us a wooden cane; raps it: wooden sound.
After he throws it, the cane moves in an arc around the amphitheater.

As it gets around ten feet away from him, moving in its arc,
the cane turns into a large, bird, flapping his wings
n calling out. He flys around the crowded amphitheater of customers,
continuing the arc of flight. As the bird approaches the magician
within around ten feet, he turns into a cane (the bird, not the magician).
I thought u might appreciate the cleverness.
He might still be at the Flamingo; there 's a chance.

@boomerang,
boomerang, I am glad that Austrian couple love their visit. No, not everyone hates the US. I don't - there are sooo many nice people there. And some stupid ones - just like everywhere Confused

@urs53,
Over the years, I have encounterd citizens of other countries
who are perplexed as to the reason that we are giving away the store.
These are folks who are more conservatively minded than most Americans.

It is a big mistake to accept the idea that all aliens are leftists.

I'm back to my full sized keyboard where I can actually type!

I wish I hadn't given up on my other one so early -- the curious girl came back and wanted to check out my toy computer so we ended up hanging out in the laundry goofing off. If I hadn't given up I could have hung out with Nick Fun!

You're lucky to live so close to Santa Barbara. What an amazing place. Mo started to learn to surf on a little belly board and I didn't think we'd ever get him out of the water much less out of Santa Barbara. He doesn't understand why we can't just move there.

The Austrian newlyweds were so funny and nice. More laundry room hanging out ensued.

I can't believe how many Austrailians I met in California! Half the country must be on vacation. All of them to a person were lovely. I want to go to Australia!

Thanks for saying hello to me in my laundry cage!
