And how can I fix it?

I have to have all caps off in order to make capitals. I have to have allcaps on to write lower case. I have to use the decimal on the number pad for periods. When i click on links they open in sparate pages always (even within able@know or hotmail). anytime i click on the page< it highlights portions of it. the same thing happens when i try to go back and edit my test so that i end up deleting parts unintentionally. and< my numbers don"t make numbers no matter what i try> i just tried a reboot< and it isn"t helping> my cat was on the keyboard when i got home _ i assume he hit something>

help!!!

@littlek,
One of your shift keys is stuck.

Press and release each shift key and see if it fixes it.

@littlek,
Try to clean out the keyboard. sounds like the shift key is stuck down. even if the physical key isn't down, there may be some crap underneith causing the computer to think it is down.

@dlowan,
I just turned mine upside down and banged it on the desk. But, mine was crumby and not sticky..... not implying that yours is sticky or anything.

Or you can just get a whole brand spanking new no coffee spills or muffin crumbs one for around $4 US. At least you can in the US. Don't know about Oz.

If it's a keyboard on a desktop, just buy a new one. You can get a kb for $25 or less now.
