@OGIONIK,
One might answer....

Monkeys are still here for the same reason you are here.

@OGIONIK,
As to that specific question -- why monkeys are still here -- the only answer that springs to mind is, "Why wouldn't they be? Nobody has ever said that humans descended from monkeys. Monkeys, apes and homo sapiens sapiens all evolved at roughly the same time, somewhere around a million years ago, give or take a millenium."

@OGIONIK,
"So they can perform at the circus."

"So we can watch them at the zoo."

Try one of those.

Why do you feel the need to? Are they a friend of yours?

Tell them it's because Noah saved 2 of each animal on the ark.

Or, tell them that they evolved because that species did well while others did not.

Or, maybe tell them they are a dumbass for asking such stupid questions.

Arguing with a Creationist is like banging your head against a brick wall, only less productive. But I wish you good luck.

I understand. It's aggravating being confronted with blatant ignorance.

Unfortunately the propaganda fueling this ignorance is nearly endless, and the people spewing it usually aren't really interested in factual answers and true scientific understanding anyway, so debating them is usually useless. They're really only interested in spreading their propaganda.

The only way to correctly answer all their challenges is to know your own subject so well that you recognize all the traps in their bogus information. And that can take a lot of study.

The only other way to deal with them is to treat them like you would any other lunatic who approached you on the street telling you that the end of the world is coming... and I'll leave that response up to you.

What monkeys? I don't see any monkeys.

If you are seeing monkeys then maybe you need to seek professional help.

It is easy to answer the question of why are monkeys still here and a thoughtful person would provide that answer to the ignorant.

It is more difficult to explain one species that is dissimilar to any other or why there is no existence of or evidence of short necked or medium necked giraffes. That does not mean there are no answers. It only means they are more difficult to come by.

And none of the answers are proof of Creationism. Nor evidence that there was never any such thing as Creationism.

Personally I've never understood the driving passion of those who seem to need so badly to prove or disprove Creationism.
