as a long-time king fanatic (read my first -- the stand -- in '79, and just about everything else he's written since), I've noticed a number of actors who have done more than one stephen king film.
a few that come to mind:
morgan freeman (the shawshank redemption, dreamcatcher)
ed harris (creepshow, needful things)
bonnie bedelia (salem's lot, needful things)
david morse (the langoliers, the green mile, hearts in atlantis)
drew barrymore (firestarter, cat's eye)
harry dean stanton (christine, the green mile)
the list goes on and on...
not surprisingly, king has made cameos in at least 10 films -- very hitchcockian...
i've been trying to decide if this is mere coincidence, or if there's a deep-seeded allegiance to his work among actors. i'd like to think there is.
Don't forget Kathy Bates (Misery and Dolores Claiborne). Hmm, I wonder how your theory could be proven (or disproven)?
haven't the foggiest... anybody know s.king's phone #?
Kathy Bates -- the prime example and what a performance in both films! She was also the high point in a very puzzling and rather inert film, "About Schimdt." Especially the hot tub scene.
wait, wasn't she also in "the stand"? ... yeah, she played the radio talk show host who got murdered by the military.
