@McGentrix,
But after that mangled Palin response it doesnt matter.

It is interesting to watch the fan-o-meter again with this debate.

Hah. She just called him Senator O-Biden.

Hee hee, at the beginning of the debate when they were introduced, Palin whispered to Joe asking if she could call him Joe.

So far she's referred to him as the ticket or the senator.

Now she just referred to him as Senator O Biden.

@FreeDuck,
How is the fan-o-meter going? Watching different channel on slight delay.

@Butrflynet,
After her asking if she can call him Joe, I'm predicting that at some point she's going to come up with the phrase, "Your name may be Joe, but you are no Joe Sixpack."

The fan-o-meter didnt like it when she said that, though.

It is very interesting. I have been taking notes. Some of my observations:

-- people dont like it when a candidate refers to him or herself as a "maverick"
-- people no longer seem to think that tax cuts are a magic elixir and that raising taxes is evil
-- and just now it plummeted when she said "white flag of surrender"

I should mention that "people" here means uncommitted ohio voters.

Ah, you mean 'people that matter.'

Thank you very much; and further updates such as this will bring goodwill.

Biden looks tired. Those are some hefty bags under his eyes tonight.

His facial expressions are hilarous while Palin is speaking. He looks incredulous like he can't believe he's hearing what is being said. He just now outright laughed while she was talking about McCain's record on the war.

that was quite striking

there were a couple of moments when the fan-o-meter seemed to like Gwen better than either of the candidates

generally (very very generally) the womens' line was better for Biden, and the mens' line for Palin while I was watching (channel switching between u s vp debate and Canajun Prime Ministerial debate).

More fan-o-meter updates:
-- women love Biden
-- dial is up when he talks about Pakistan nukes
-- it is up for Palin too when talking about Israel
-- dives when she calls Obama naive

Palin sounds like a trained monkey. We just had 8 years of a trained monkey. I want someone who speaks intelligently and can clearly express their own thoughts and beliefs. Palin is dead weight on McCain's campaign. She should announce she wants to spend more time with her family, pack up and go back to her outpost in Alaska. Maybe we can make her the Ambassador to Siberia.

The meme on Palin before this debate was that it was time the McCain campaign let Palin loose and allow her to be herself.

So far she hasn't said a thing that isn't the standard McCain talking points, in the very same language using the very same phrases as their various campaign commercials. She was more herself during the Couric interviews. Now she's nothing more then a Stepford wife.

Women's rights????? Is she kidding??? Her daughter is being forced to have an unwanted child and she is supervising the shot gun wedding. She wants to take away the rights of every woman in America to chose what they do with their body. She's a woman's worst enemy.

The fan-o-meter tales continue:
-- folks like Bidens talk on diplomacy, but it goes down a little when he hits McCain for saying he would not meet with Spain
-- on diplomacy the lines between men and women diverge, women go up, men flatline
-- Palin has this thing she does with her voice, kind of whispery and pointed, how you would talk to a child, the fan-o-meter is neutral on it but it bugs the crap out of me
