PERHAPS the most insidious byproduct of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, has been a reflexive sanctification of the military. To put this in bumper stickerese: Support the Troops.

Well, I have an ugly confession to make: I don't support the troops - at least not unconditionally. When somebody tells me they serve in the military, my first impulse isn't to say, "Thank you for your service!" like those insufferable chickenhawks on talk radio.

My first impulse is to say, "I'm sorry to hear that." Because I am. I'm sorry to know that the person I'm talking to might someday be maimed or killed on the job, or might someday kill someone else. Or refuel a plane that drops bombs on buildings.

A little context here....from the same article

And here it's worth making a point often overlooked. Anyone who pays taxes in this country "supports the troops." We're the ones who subsidize their training and equipment and medical care and education.

I'm happy to do so, as long as I believe those soldiers are being deployed on a mission that feels morally necessary - targeting terrorists who seek to kill civilians, for instance, or trying to prevent a genocide.

The American troops are not decent.
They go in a far awy country without the local language.
They are the paid servantas of a nasty Regime and have no civil courage .
They rape, loot, butcher, torture and paste the picture os a playboy girl.
Oh what a wonderful lovely troops and their half backed potatoe families.

Now I know thro able to know forum who you are..
I repeat.The american GI's are the padi, pathetic persons without moral, civil courage.
Ask any one who had engaged in the last two wars.

After all, I served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Gulf War 1.
So tell me Rama, am I a "pathetic person without moral, civil courage"?

Would you mind to explain the barbaric war( skipping the attention of OBL )
What kind of GI#s who had allowed to make pictures of looting during the short 20 days highteck?
What kind of GIs who had made a history by allowing the bedfellow's statue( Sadam) to substantiate the barbaric uncristian war.
why the hell the barbaric american GIs had killed some journalists..

if i were a citizen of Iraq i will face all the American GIs and request to leave the country and MIND YOUR COUNTRY's welfare.
