Taking a break from the forums for a while.

I love this place, and it's a great source for information and ideas. However, with the current political climate it's getting harder and harder to sort through all that information. Partly I blame the new forum format (tags versus directories) which allows some threads to get no attention while others get too much attention.

I feel like the new format encourages more broad threads while it suffocates smaller more specific threads. Combine that with the general emotional asymptote that is spiking with the election and it's just a little much to take.

I may continue to read, but I just don't feel like I'm getting as much out of the forums right now as I have in the past. I'm going to let the election fizzle down and get my information elsewhere for the time being. I don't foresee the climate here to calm down anytime soon so I'm imagining my absence will be about 2 months or so.

...Of course, temptation may take hold of me, and I may not be able to stop myself from correcting some terrible false statement... place your bets.

In the meantime, if you feel so inclined, I'll still be posting on my blog/vlog.
