@ehBeth,
No air sucks and so does no light, tv or computer. This thought just reminded me of one really cool side effect, however. The sky. The utter lack of light pollution after these events has the effect of lighting up the night sky so brilliantly that it is really something to behold. City dwellers don't often get such a brilliant display from home. I used to cruise several miles out to sea just to enjoy this effect.

The nights we sat outside, the sky was not clear enough to see more than a few stars. But, I know what you mean. When I was a boy in Fresno, we usd to lie on our backs and marvel at the stars.
