@Craven de Kere,
Craven--

There's 61 posts on this thread and I'm the only one with a green thumb.

Why is that? I'm just curious.

@spendius,
Cause green thumb means you voted, and when a user posts they automatically vote their post up (you can change it, but we figure some people would do that for all their posts anyway and by doing this make it fairer for the people who wouldn't) and you haven't voted anyone else. So the only green thumb is on you.

@George,
It wasn't gardening.

I still don't understand. Did I inadvertently approve my own post?

@Craven de Kere,
My beef is that "sort by most votes" would be a useful feature for me if people voted up the threads they genuinely like on their merits, and voted down the ones they genuinely dislike on their merits. Personal animosities, and "I disagree with what you're saying so I'm voting you down", diminish this usefulness to me.

So to sum up, my beef is with some users who deprive me of a potentially useful feature on the site. Again, my beef is not with you.

@spendius,
You automatically approve your own post. The program does it for you.

@OGIONIK,
But you could vote them out of your sight simply by not going to the bottom of the previous Forum Index or clicking on anything.

And, I'll have you know, the Trivia Games are where the highest standards are.

@spendius,
Spendius -- A2K automatically approves your own posts for you. Log in as Mathos, or whatever your alter ego is, and Spendius's hand won't be green anyomre.

@spendius,
because you didn't approve me. The green thumbs are those who you have approved directly or because you made the post and the program did it for you.

@OGIONIK,
Thanks, Ogionik - precisely my feelings on those trivia games! I never previously voted in this new system, but I want you to know I'm the one who just voted on your new post.

Separately, on another thread I asked how many posters (allegedly distinct individuals) it takes to up one "poster" to a rating of 105 plus - will let you know if I get an answer <G>

@littlek,
I'm getting that I approve my own post because I posted. Why not for you? You posted.

I don't approve of anybody least of all myself. We're all dickheads aren't we? Have you not read Darwin?

@spendius,
Spendius, A2K automatically approved littlek's post for her when she posted. When she's looking at her posts, she is seeing a green thumb. The reason you're not seeing one on her posts is because you're not her (as far as I know), or at least not logged in as her.

"Green thumb" means: I, the user currently looking at this post, have approved it. Which thumbs are green varies with who "I" is.

You only see the thumbs in colour if you have voted on it. Green if you've voted something up, or if you've made a post and therefore automatically voted it up, and red if you've voted something down.

If somebody else has voted, you'll see the number change, but the thumbs only change colour if you have voted on the topic or post.

@Thomas,
Right Thomas. Your thumb is green to you and not to me.

Where have you had it then?

So what does it tell me that I didn't already know?

@old europe,
So what would it take for your thumb to look green to me? Or red.
