I need to install an Icebreak on a shallow angle metal roof. my question is what method is better. Ice breaks or heat coils. I have read up on both styles but nobody has been able to tell me the pros or cons

Mel,

I believe that whatever does the job with no consumption of energy starts off as the best alternative. I'd never heard of 'icebreaks' though I have seen them on a number of roofs.

I read about them on one site,

http://www.icebreaks.com/index.html

I'd call them and let them give you their spiel. From that you should get some good info. Good luck.
