Thanks, littlek. Most of the leaves are about 2 inches. The plant is a little over 5 inches tall.

Mine don't grow as creeping ground cover. They can get big, but not what I'd call creeping, like a potato vine.

This year the few seedlings I let grow haven't done much but get to about a foot tall, with maybe a foot spread.

I do not know if my daughter's plant is the same type as yours, Chai. How big are the leaves on your plant?

I don't think its a vinca. gram and I do lots of vinca, as thats her favorite.

My plant geek friend / consumer is due to stop in the shop later, I will see if he has an idea.

Oh, about 4 and a half feet long and 3 feet wide. Laughing

I'm waiting for Rocky's gram to come on here and settle this.

I too thought vinca was more of a viney plant. This one appears to be standing straight up. Also, that picture Chai posted is of a plant with a more rounded leaf than wandel's. We have some in our yard that look like that -- but I'm not good with names of things. I'll see if my green-thumbed husband has an idea.

littlek is right about wanting to see a flower. I don't think it's any form of vinca either. Are you sure it's a perennial and not a rooted cutting from a shrub? At this stage it looks like dozens of plants. Did the source give you any growing information?

Thanks, Green Witch. My wife was with my daughter when she got the plant. The only thing my wife remembers is that they told her it was a "perennial".

Thanks to everyone for their interest. I will continue to post updated photos.

I don't think it's Vinca either, but I haven't seen V. for a few years.

Chai, my guess is this. Those tall vincas you linked us to are more tropical for warmer climates. I know Wandel lives in a Northern climate. If I'm right about that, the warmer zoned vinca wouldn't be perennials in his climate.

I'm voting with the not vinca folks. Perennial vinca here is vine-like. I'm also voting with the 'got me at this stage' folks.
