So much to choose from, but it seems like a good starting point.
Excellent! Thank you, mckenzie.
If you wanted a little smaller, a used Pontiac Vibe is a great buy. It's just a re-badged Toyota Matrix, but still took a typical Pontiac depreciation hit.
Why are you crushed?
Toyota and Pontiac are not the same thing. GM and Toyota have had some models that are the same. Like the Geo Prism and Toyota Corolla back in the early/mid 90's.
A lot of manufacturers have done this. The Honda Passport SUV from the 90's was a re-badged Izuzu Rodeo.
Well, a CR-V it is. I don't have it yet, still using the rental, but I hope to pick it up on Monday.
Thanks for all the input.
Congratulations! What year did you end up buying?
Thanks, mac.
It's a 2005 with 20,000 miles and extended warranty.
While I was in the showroom signing the papers a guy drove in with a 1997 Honda Odyssey and was looking at newer cars. I almost offered to buy his car from him on the spot. I decided I didn't want to take a chance on someone else's 11 year old Odyssey and went with the CR-V.
JPB, I certainly don't want to intimate your daughter should avoid her past car with the allied association, but a new brand could be refreshing.
I was in a twirlaround in a volvo and bought another (swedish) volvo later, with no flim flams. But.. I can see going emotionally the other way on it.
I don't mean to foster that, for sure.
When I was somewhere in my late teens my father, the driver, hit the car in front of him. I now forget the circumstances except that it was light, though it was a learner for me at the time, how little it took to get in a mess.
My husband was in a pileup on the Harbor freeway... love a duck. I think he was fifth or sixth.
So what? Don't tailgate me, asshat, as Boomer would say.
I remember a joy ride in a porshe with the zoom up and pass maneuvers, late at night, light rain.
The thing is, all those people on the freeway/highway aren't there for a dodgemcars game, they are people with lives.
Is this where games come into real llfe? I don't know.
You're better off. 8 years newer, have an extended warranty, plus it probably comes serviced before you drive off...and you found really low miles.
Yeah, I feel pretty good about switching to a new(er) year and model. I seem to be stuck on Honda/Acura with my last three purchases but, hey, if it works for you....
