If you have a space restriction that you can not overcome, you're stuck with a cabinet model, which usually can not be larger than a 1.25 cuft unit. Which may be too small for good salt and water efficiency. So how much space do you actually have? You can get a regular softener in a 30"w x 20"d x 65"-76"h.

How long was your Waterboss in service?

Did it provide reliable service?

Did the quality of your water meet your expectations with the Waterboss?

Believe it or not the waterboss 900 has been great no problems for 3 years until now my water pressure has dropped to about 50% so I have bypassed the unit for now , some else said I should take the resin out and clean it and put it back in , I have ordered a resin cleaner to see if that will help

Three years is not a long time. Many industry standard softeners will go 10 years plus before requiring service but that is dependent on the water quality. Pre-built box store softeners like your Waterboss, Sears, Morton, GE, and the like tend to require service much sooner and much more often.

Are you on a water system or a well?

Had the water tested lately? Hardness, iron?

The Waterboss has a packed resin bed and can be fouled by iron in the water. Resin cleaner like Iron Out or Super Iron Out may help you this time. If it does then you should be using a resin cleaner on a routine schedule.

Try the Iron Out. May take two applications to unfoul the resin.

If the softener recovers then use resin cleaner routinely.

I don't think the water has any iron in at your house. So resin cleaner is not going to help. The blockage is not caused by rust build up.

Do you have a "whole house" filter? If you do then remove the cartridge from the housing and see if that helps. And if it does, tell me and I can tell you what else you need to do.
