Did anyone watch the Tony Awards last night?
It seemed to me that they had a lot more musical numbers than usual, which I enjoyed. I especially liked the bits from In the Heights and Passing Strange.
I think the most controversial thing that happened was in Tracy Letts' speech (I assume that was Tracy Letts anyway) when he said: "They did an amazing thing - they decided to produce an American play on Broadway with theatre actors." That was quite a slam on the tendency to cast "famous" movie and TV actors to sell tickets. Someone wisely chose to NOT cut to the reactions of any of those famous people sitting in the audience.
The Celtics were playing the Lakers at the same time as the Tony show.
The basketball game was a million times more exciting than the Tonys.
Perhaps the game was more exciting for you, Miller (and for millions of others) but not for me.
