i buy the diamet. earth in "squeeze bottles" - usually in the fall when they are being sold at half-price .
i just walk around the house blasting away at the line where the soil and driveway meet the house-foundation - seems to work quite well .
i don't work it into the soil . since we -as yet - don't have any of those nasty fireants , that seems to take care of them .
the odd one will get into the house and will quickly get evicted or squashed .
we did have a very bad ant infestion in our house some years ago , which took us a couple of weeks to get under control . so preventive measures are in order .
as i said earlier , i don't mind having them in the lawm : they don't bother me - i don't bother them - as long as they stay outside .
i suppose they must do some good - aerate the soil ?
