wish we had a few really hot days - at least 30 C - to get rid of the mosquitoes and blackflies around here . with all the snow in the winter and a wet spring , it's been terrible with those skitters .
and we've been warned NOT to get mosquito bites : WEST NILE VIRUS !
the police has also reminded drivers to be extra careful on country roads : the mosquitoes and blackflies are driving the deer and moose out of the woods and onto the roads where they hope to escape the skitters .

H, I would so gladly send you ours. In Abbotsford, it hit 34 C today. Crying or Very sad Mad

And if that's not bad enough, it doesn't properly cool down enough (only 17 or 18) so one can get a good night's sleep.

We got 97f today. I patiently reminded myself this was what I had been waiting for all winter. A bit humid, too, though most regions would call it dry. We'll probably only drop 25 or 30 degrees tonight. The humidity and light cloud cover tend to hold the heat in.

eastern lake ontario :
highs in the mid 20's C - lows in the high teens C - really quiete nice along lake ontario .
yesterday afternoon we took a one-hour (free) ferry ride across the lake to wolfe island - wonderful fresh breeze !

I'm crowing.

Crohn's has many disadvantages, but my bones appreciate the heat radiating from blacktop--even the heat inside a parked car.

Of course humidity hasn't moved in yet.

Still, enjoying temperatures in the 80's is new and pleasant for me.

I don't like the sound of that - twanging nerves.

Littlek--

When no one listens when you speak, this puts the nerves a-twang.

Diversion for a full-time caregiver is essential. A2K is diversion.

Exactly, Noddy, and to add to the problem , Bertha may soon become a hurricane.

Letty--

Do you think someone else could entertain Bertha? I'm probably going to be very busy for the next two weeks. Bluntly, being a gracious hostess to a turbulent personality would be just a bit too much.

Hopefully someone before me has pointed out that "seasonable" means normal for the season. It is "unseasonable" that means abnormal for the season. (see thread title)

Unseasonable weather provides conversation.

Seasonable--but personally inconvenient weather--provokes moans and groans and grumbling.

We're an egotistical species.

we do like it warm and even hot - but SMOG - YIKES ! here we go again !
we went swimming this morning , the wash is out on the line drying - we might just decide to stay inside until things cool of a bit late in the afternoon or go down to lake ontario to catch a fresh breeze !

Massive swath of Ontario under smog advisory

Updated: Mon Jul. 07 2008 10:07:30 AM

ctvtoronto.ca

The Ministry of the Environment has placed a massive swath of the province -- including all of Toronto -- under a smog advisory.

The advisory is in effect until further notice and covers the City of Toronto, Dufferin-Innisfil, the City of Hamilton, York-Durham, Halton-Peel and many of the surrounding regions in the southern, central and eastern parts of the province. - THAT MEANS US ! Shocked

Smog is neither healthy nor aesthetic. You have my sympathy.
