scabs keep bleeding the longer they are picked at.

The more this is brought up, the more we as a group , are lending to Rockheads embarrassment.

lets let this die..

please..

I don't think this is Rockhead's embarassment.

Osso meant well. I think she just wanted to send out a message to
all women at a2k to be more precautious. At least that's my interpretation
of it. Her intentions were good.

good intentions can and often do have bad consequences and even be harmful to those that we're intending to help.
i don't think anyone is disputing osso's intentions, but that's beside the point here.

Truer words were never spoken Dasha.

Is there any way this thread can be erased? It is Jo's embarrassment, but it is also embarrassing to Rockhead who knows that anyone and everyone can read it and start making opinions.

For his sake, get this thing out of here.

Question:

Threads can be incinerated, can they not?

This thread is a very damaging thread to A2K - as well as to individuals named here.

Still relatively new here - but speaking as someone who has been helped enormously by A2K and the folks on this thread - if I were a still a newbie - someone in distress and needed help and was checking out A2K - upon reading this thread it would make me feel very wary about certain people.

For a fact - I know the people on this thread can help people in their own way - point being - IN THEIR OWN WAY - and to have a thread like this continue and remain on this forum - it's not doing anyone any favours at all is it?

For a fact - RH has a knowledge about many things that can help many, many people, male and female - when I came to this forum seeking advice - his opinions and advice helped, made a difference and have been solid, sound and constructive. Not only to myself, but a number of others. Nothing more that a good, kind person wanting to help and having an insight which was different to others. A person I trust and hold in high regard.

People benefit from the advice and support genuinely given by the people contributing to this thread. To keep a thread like this on the board will make others think twice, if not a hundred times, before listening to what they have to say. That would be very sad and completely unjust, because a wide variety of opinion and perspective is what some of us need to be able to make decisions when times are tough.

Surely - is it not possible to remove this thread from the board - not only for the individuals concerned - but for people who are coming to A2K who can benefit from these individuals opinions and advice?

I realise by posting this that it raises it to the top of the board again - which I don't want to do because it makes me feel desperately sad knowing that people will see this again. However, if anyone is watching that can do something about it - well, I guess it's a just a question. Does this thread need to stay on the board?

There have been worse threads than this, izzie, and everyone survived
quite nicely. Let's not get too hysterical.

Only the initiator of this thread can ask for a removal, as far as I know.

Unfortunately these things, even when removed, take on a life of their own. I have already received multiple PMs from people saying that have been PM'd by osso with explanations that are outright fabrications. Things that I know for a fact are fabrications or intentional lies. Removing the thread only forces those discussions underground where they fester and remain with a history as if it were fact. Only by leaving this thread active can the discussion remain balanced and falsehoods pointed out. For example I have had three people tell me that per osso, RH showed up unannounced at D&D's door and took over the planning of the upcoming gathering. That they had no idea he was coming until he showed up. THIS IS A FALSEHOOD!

I will say here and now that Rockhead made one and only trip to ABQ and that is was fully coordinated and planned with all of the locals beforehand. I participated in the planning and had early discussions with each of them. Any insinuation otherwise is wrong and vicious.

Izzie, I know how much you think of RH. I share your feelings and would have given anything for this thread to never have been started. For reasons of her own (from her own PM to me, I have a fairly good idea what they are and they're aren't all altruistic). The bottom line is that she didn't want RH to attend the upcoming gathering.

Mission accomplished.

I agree. It's not that bad, especially since so many of his friends and acquaintances here have come to support him.

And I agree with JPB as well. I haven't been involved in pms regarding this whole thing but it's probably better to have a general clearing of the air.

I also agree with shewolfnm that this thread has been done to death.

JPB, I am not part of any PM behind the scene plot here, so I might
not have all facts, however, ossobuco has been here at a2k since 2002
and as peculiar as she might be, she does not intentionally harm anyone,
nor does she spread lies. She has never done that here.

She is confused at times, yes, but you of all people who have met her
personally, to come here and openly discuss private messages from
her, is in very poor taste, to say the least.

I have had disagreements with osso, quite a few actually, and I still
can see that her intentions were good.

A number of people are talking about getting this thread erased. There are numerous threads that have been much worse and much more vile. These same people that are calling for the pulling of the thread continue to make posts in it.

If you want to stop this nonsense.... STOP POSTING.

There.......done. Confused

CJane, plot is your word, not mine. I don't imagine a plot but you know as well as I do how the underground PM network works here. It's active today and it's spreading falsehoods that I know for a fact are not true.

Actually I don't. I rarely use the PM function, and if I do, it's mostly with
gustav who needs a little pep talk Wink

I am not involved in this, JPB, I just don't want osso to be portrayed
as someone she is not. RH has enough proponents here, osso deserves
a voice too.
