So yeah..My pioneer dvd drive wont work in vista...Heres what ive done.
I Started off by Putting a Hard drive on the same ide cable as the DVD Drive (master/slave type setup) However i could never get both to work together..Whatever....
Months later the hard drive is just removed and I have the jumper settings to slave and the secondary Ide cable is plugged into it...Ive also tried Primary jumper with Primary Ide cord if that matters....
All latest drivers are installed, ive Uninstalled the device and reinstalled...Ive Rebooted countless times and done everything i can think of...
Heres the weird part....when i put in a CD Programs will read it and i can see the songs and playlists and whatnot.....but It WONT play it no matter what i do....When i try to PLAY a song on the CD it lags out my entire computer very badly and starts Causing Crashes with explorer and All my other programs.....
Wtf? Im at wits end here....did i just have a dvd drive die on me or something? Wtf is going on here?
Also im running Those thin red cables For my hard drives As well as an IDE cable For My DVD Drive.......Could this be causing a conflict with hardware somehow? Should i be looking into my bios?
nevermind! The drive itself was broken....Its been replaced With a newer nicer drive (With lightscribe! Woooooooo) And working like a charm...
