My vehicle seats are cloth. Does anyone know if just plain water will stain the seats?
If you get them wet enough long enough they will stain but a damp clean white cloth should be OK on them.
What kind of stain are you trying to get out, and what kind of cloth are your seats?

roundabout age and model might help as well...

Plain water can stain them, kind of, if you get them wet enough. All the ingredients of perspiration can dissolve and arrange themselves in uneven patterns.
My husband had an ice cream and dropped chocolate on the seat. I used a cleaner that was suppose to be for carpet and upholestry. So I sprayed it on the spot and let it set for 5 minutes as the directions said and then took a white damp wash cloth to rub it off and the chocolate came off but now there is a ring where I cleaned it. I was wondering if the water could leave a ring. I am not sure of what to do next.
