rainsoft gold series question

Hello, i was wondering about the settings on my gold series rainsoft water softener. I would like to know what the extra settings using the raindrop button are, b/c the installer did not change any of them when he put it in and never checked the water to see what the hardness was. I think he has it set at 16 gpg and I called our public utilities and they say it is around 7gpg. That seems like it would make a big difference in how the system operates. Thanks for any help you could give me!

Anyone??????
Can anyone help me w/ the meaning of the letters in the "raindrop" menu? I just want to know what my current settings so I can make changes if necessary. I don't want to have to have to pay the local rainsoft dealer to come out and mess with it if I can figure it out myself.

Thanks!

H20_MAN,

I'm in the same boat as buckland9. I want to do maintenance on my Rainsoft gold series myself but I can't find an installation manual. I know you probably don't want to deal with a lot of these requests but I would sure appreciate getting a copy from you.

Jim

Rainsoft Programming
I am in the same situation. The Rainsoft rep was out yesterday for the annual check-up. I asked him to check & change the hardness setting as we just moved the unit from our previous home to the one we just bought and the water did not feel as soft as before. (this was verified by a recent hotel stay that had an excellant water softner) Anyway the hardness setting was 15 and he was supposed to set it at 12. I checked the day after his service and it is still at 15. If someone could e-mail a copy of the manual so I can change the setting myself, I would appreciate it.

Thanks! Very Happy

If you don't have soft water now with the hardness set at 15 gpg, you will have harder water if you reduce the hardness gpg.

Do you know what K or physical size softener you have, or a model number that may allow H20man to tell you what size you have?
