PureMaster V-750 vs PelicanPC600

Both say they have a 8-10gpm SFR

Anual cost of the V750 is a bit more than double the PC600

My question is what do you think about the media in the V750? They seem to use all kinds, carbon and multiple types of KDF.

Seems like its a better solution than the carbon only PC600.

Thoughts? Anyone have a V-750?

What type of filters are these?
What do the companies claim they do?
How do they work?

I spoke with the makers of the Pelican and they informed me that the system does not remove dissolved minerals
from H2O, but they do sell salt based ion exchange softeners if you want to remove dissolved minerals Rolling Eyes

This is where it would come in handy to post 2 links. However those posts of mine get deleted.

the V750 is an downflow system and has the following filter system

Stage 1 (Pre-Filtration):
The sediment prefilter uses a replaceable cartridge that mechanically filters copepods
Stage 2 (Redox Potential Filtration):
Patented and NSF® certified granular media KDF® is used to create an active filtration method for heavy metals
Stage 3 (Macro Filtration - Phase I):
Contains a high grade, large-granule NSF® certified Certified Natural Pumice and Virgin Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon
Stage 4 (Macro Filtration - Phase II):
Contains a high grade, large-granule NSF® certified Virgin Bituminous Coal Based Granular Activated Carbon
Stage 5 (Micro Filtration - Phase I):
Contains a high grade, mid-granule NSF® certified Virgin Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon
Stage 6 (Micro Filtration - Phase II):
Contains a high grade, small-granule NSF® certified Virgin Bituminous Coal Based Granular Activated Carbon
Stage 7 (Sub-Micro Filtration):
Contains a high grade, small-granule NSF® certified Enhanced Catalytic Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon

The Pelican uses one:
A proprietary blend of high grade granular activated carbon produced from Sri Lankan coconut shells

In my professional opinion neither are worth consideration.

A backwashing filter with coconut shell GAC in front of a metered ion exchange softener is a much better place to start.

The pelican is a backwashing filter with coconut shell. So why is it not worth consideration?

the V750 uses coconut shells too.

Im not talking about a softener in this thread, however I am going to get one. Smile
