There's a thread about them somewhere........or including them. There's way more expensive ones....

Craven writes about them somewhere, too...he was going to train it to torment the cats he was living with at the time....

Epinions has 127 reviews with a four outta five overall rating.
I gotta admit to a modest ulterior motive re: cats....but I'll never admit to it.
The battery finally went bad on poor Squeaker.
I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet.
What model and year is Squeaker?
Several years old. A Roomba Red.
Mr. Noddy got one several years ago.
The bloom is off the rose. The delight of the new toy has faded. I wouldn't let him nail baffles to the legs of the furniture and he's bored with following the little moron with the remote.
I guess then I'm better off with a real vacuum but I wonder:
- why didn't Mr. Noddy affix a soft exterior to the unit's sides as some people have done to successfully mediate the bumping problem?
- the one NCIX is selling for $200 runs back to the charger when it needs more juice, also it's not only zone programmable but it's onboard AI is smart enough to not fall down stairs etc, so why did Mr. Noddy use the remote so much?
1. Roomba had a talent for entering trouble spots without having clear get away plans.
2. Mr. Noddy is a control freak.
2. The human machine interface!
Nowadays Mr. Noddy interacts more with computer-based technology than with hammers and drills. Unlike tools, the visible shape and controls of a computer do not communicate its purpose. The task of an HMI is to make the function of a technology self-evident. Much like a well-designed hammer fits Mr. Noddy's hand and makes a physical task easy, a well-designed HMI must fit the Mr. Noddy's mental map of the task he wishes to carry out.
Mr. Noddy controls technology.
At one fell swoop ending the rational advancement of Artificial Intelligence and the Human Machine Interface.
Roomba was a good toy for three years. That makes the cost palatable.
