Mmmmm, biscuits..
I saved that recipe. Think I'll make some gravy with turkey sausage and pearl onions and parsley like they do at the Flying Star Cafe; won't be today as that involves a store trip in the next few days.
53F here today, and supposed to get up to 68 by Friday. My front yard is calling me...
March winds.
Gusts to 40 mph.
Howling March winds.
I'm feeling a bit personal about March winds.
my heat's been off and my windows open during the day for a week... fabulous....
Since it has been quite nice this afternoon ...
... and will get as bad as before the next couple of days ...
.... I decided to look for the spring around the house.
And in the park - though when look from there towards our apartment, it doesn't look like it ...
.... but from neighbour's garden it looks 'paschal' :wink:
And, to be honest, it's more or else 'just yellow' in the park
Okay, there are some more colours, too
So we'll wait what survives the colder temepratures of the coming days ...
<sigh>
Spring witchhazel is still blooming. Some snowdrops are blooming (not ours), The trees are budding out and tassling and blushing with color. No crocuses yet.....
<sigh>
no signs of spring except a lone songbird singing. 3"-6" of snow everywhere...
Reached a balmy forty one degrees yesterday. Mr. blue heron made his return.
About three and a half feet of snow in the backyard - about eight feet of snow in a heap on the front lawn.
I've seen a few fat sparrows collecting bits of twigs and things. Getting ready, getting ready.

hope the bunnies living under one of our spruce trees won't get their tails frozen .
birds incl. cardinals have started to chirp and sing - what fools they are !

My deepest sympathies for you poor folk.
Us westerners will be saying a prayer for you. :wink:

I've been living in Interesting Times which has diverted me from a neurotic count-down to spring. All the same, the equinox is going to precede according to precedent.
Cardinals and chickadees are courting. A loutish, lusty mourning dove has rape on his mind. The drab male goldfinches are starting to show some yellow feathers in their plumage.
Potatoes are sprouting in the cupboard.
All of the alarming snowflakes that have drifted by in the last few days have melted quickly. The winter ramparts from the snow plow are almost gone.
Daffodils are sprouting. If I can get out with my trusty rake, I'm sure to uncover squills and crocus.
Deer droppings on the lawn show that some tender green grass is being absorbed into the food chain.
Not more interesting times! Your character has already been built into skyscraper proportions...
Our big ol' snow has been melting, only spare lumps left. Lots of bulb sprouts in its wake, no flowers yet but nice to see those daffodil spikes and nascent iris leaves. Time to do some yardwork and clearing.
