STRAWBERRIES MACERATED IN BALSAMIC VINEGAR
Adapted by BumbleBeeBoogie

2 pints of strawberries, washed and stemmed
4 tablespoons Balsamic vinegar, the best quality you can afford
3 tablespoons granulated white sugar

Rinse and stem the strawberries and thoroughly dry. Slice the berries into halves lengthwise.

Place the sugar in a medium bowl and drizzle the Balsamic vinegar over the sugar and whisk until the sugar is dissolved. Add the sliced strawberries and toss, coating them in the sauce.

Cover the bowl or transfer the berries and sauce into a sealable plastic bag and refrigerate over night, or 8 to 10 hours, tossing the berries at least three times during their maceration. If you use the sealable bag you only have to massage the bag.

To serve, chill four martini or wine glasses. Spoon the berries into the glass and spoon the Balsamic vinegar sauce over the berries. A wonderful dessert served cold.
