At the weekend, we went for a walk across Morecambe Bay with Cedric, the Queen's Guide.
It was an organised do with a lot of people, in aid of the RNLI.
Bazza - FQ's at home today and hopefully enjoying her day - we had a long gab this morning - ahhhhhhhh, life plans together and all that... if if if if if only.... hoping she will be spoiled a little tonight. Her and I are going for a spa day together for her birthday - prolly in half term - will let you know when we're coming up.
POMcT - good on you and the cabin boy FiB - I don't suppose you took your new camera, did you? Hope all is good in your part of the world - you'da been proud of me today - I gave the grass a good haircut - the flowers are all starting to appear and got some cute as dickens frogs in the wee pond. Lubbly jubbly!
Missyssssysyyssysysysssyyyyy - where are you girlie? All OK in Bama? x
BEAgle - thinking of you and heading across the sea to pick you up from shoreleave in a couple days.
Thinking of our Boida too - tomorrow is zap day - gonna get that nasty zapped right outta her head. hugs and love and healing wishes for her.
I'm not going to work tomorrow - have a little bit of a confidence problem going on so decided to stay at home tomorrow and swap with my colleague on Friday - little fella is going away with his father this weekend so it'll be quite good to be distracted on Friday (bit of a craw in my throat, that is) - S-boy will have a fab time tho so that is good. Rocky rocky road with R at present - moving is looming... it's taking it's toll. Tomorrow is meet the new Social Worker day for him - will be waiting for the phone call and hoping for the best.
Hey Girl...All's well. I am just finishing up a bout with Bronchitus and we had our last game of the season Saturday. All three of the boys have a bye the first game - so we start tournament championships next Tues....Can I just say - it is crazy? I am trying to make up my mind whether the two should actually be in AllStars...the little one doesn't act like he really cares...and it is expensive...and time consuming...will be doing baseball through July and then we start football the end of July. I feel like crawling in a hole right now! LOL!
POMcT - good on you and the cabin boy FiB - I don't suppose you took your new camera, did you?
Well, as it happens....
About 400 people turned up for the walk. We wondered, "Is the tide out?"
We hoped it was. We had a professional guide.
Trustingly. we set off down the beach in the general direction of America.
Then we had that Canute moment
One guy thought he was Charlton Heston at the Parting of the Red Sea.
But that didn't work, so there was nothing else for it but to....
Wade In The Water (c. Art Blakey)
Luckily, most survived the journey
And the rescue hovercraft was not needed
And so Moses led his people home

@mismi,
Ooh, not that nasty bronchitus again - do you have a shot in the bahookie this time? Poor love, horrible for you. Can imagine your life going great guns and you'll be exhausted. Has school finished now? You out for the summer. Our little kids started their SAT's yesterday - we very much disagree on them, but despite all our staff having a union - they went with County Policy to do the test, there could be a few recriminations but most of the little schools agreeds to do ahead at a meeting - so homefully the repercussions from the unions will not be too severe. We try to take the pressure off as much as possible - they had mock ones in the class the other day and M-teacher and I were doing a little dance to tell them they were all stars and not to worry - the test is to show how good the teacher is at teaching, in effect, they are tests for the teachers and not for the kids.
Too much pressure for 5-6 and 10-11 years olds in my opinion. We don't have such big games like baseball and such (ya know, little league sorta stuff) - that's usually stronger in secondary school
Try not to run around too much girlie, you'll exhaust yourself. Is the professor still liking his job, maybe he will be able to help out a little more.
Love you so much Mis -wish I would come and help, at times I feel I would be able to maybe take a little load off you - but then again, I dunno anything about baseball Don't worry about the house chores, do what you can, and rest in between. Always. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
POMcT - well, my word sonny, you have been upgraded to the official storyteller on the ship...- you just look BRILLIANT McT - amaxing - perhaps we could persuade our PaddyBoy to tell us stome stories also - he's our Irish crew and they always have a yarn to spin... oh, just to hear the fella talk in that accent <swoon> Ha, he's knows I'm safe, I can say that to him
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS as our dear Joanna would say (did you see her trip to the source of the Nile on TV last week, fascinating - watch it on iplayer if you can, great journey)
anyhoo, just as fascinating was your photo story. I'd'a paid money to be there with traipsing thru the water. It looked fab with a huge turnout and such a good thing to do. Love those stories McT - hope you do lots over the summer and keep reporting in with pics. Please send my love to FiB and remember open house in the South West of England if you can make it down.
They had the ten tors over the weekend.... 35, 45, and 55 miles treks across the barren but mystefyingly beautiful Dartmoor - kids 14-16 mostly.
I remember the training from school.
Theres some info if anyones interested.... massive event down here, good strong determined kids from most of the secondary schools around. I think about 4K kids, but I may be wrong there. Sheer guts and determination, it was chilly on the high ground, they camp out overnight and finish the tors the next day. Not for the feint hardy. Only a few heli rescues, one lad tried to complete it with a broken foot, oh my
Hugs, love and oars away, helms heading for South Australia
course, it had been with the Irish... ya know, loyalty for my first ship
((((((BEAgle))))))) - on our way.
(((((((Blue))))))))
some pics of the best things in life... for our Boida and those on shoreleave right now and who we're thinking of... and wishing a safe return to the deck soon...
and my first bleeding heart this year... xox x
missy's in there too wee smiling daisy - she's so beautiful.
AllllllllllllllexChap - how does your garden grow? Pics hunni - do you have any to share. Love to you and your world. Hope life is being gentle to you. x
early start tomorrow, should try to settle down... loving y'all.. xxxxxxxx
Hugs and love to all those who may need one with struggles in their lives. We're here. xxxxxxxxxxxx

Morning Captain and crew.Got a message from Penny O'Hamster overnight. She's looking forward to joining me on the trip to Verby Land. She doesen't mind going back to OZ on our return either.Keeping fingers crossed for half term ( and I still don't know when it is (( July ?? )) ).
mismi, thought you and the boys might be on the beaches helping soak up all that ****** oil .
McTag,re your Charlton (now that word rings a bell!) Heston pic.A classic pose!Made me smile big.Nice pics btw.
Beautiful morning here in London Town, clear blue skys with only a few of those skinny, whispy clouds that you can see through.Oh yea,and lots of "white trails" going off to far and exotic lands.
The Fredster's on his pollow soaking up the early morning sun and my tummy is rumbling.Time to cook dinner.

Oh Barry - it's sickening. We are still in school - but you know we plan our vacation pretty quickly once it gets out - that is now 13 days away. My beautiful sugar beaches will probably be covered in oil by then. It makes me want to cry.
Beautiful pics Izzie - you are so sweet to me.
I am fine. Bronchitus just seems to be a way of life for me these days. But it is cleared up fairly easily with a shot and I just keep on going. Tired yes, but don't really have much of a choice with three little boys running around. Testing is hard Izzie-girl. The kids here don't seem to mind it much though . Maybe because they just don't know any different and it certainly lets us know how well they are doing over all... if they really hated them and did poorly on them - I might not like them, but it doesn't seem to phase the boys.
G-baby has been wearing his T-shirt you gave him almost every day. I have to wash it at night while he is asleep.
((Dutchy))
McT - those are great pictures. You make a fine Moses you do.
We have blue PrimeMinister - David Cameron!!!!!!! Conservative/LibDem coalition.
We'll see what they do with our country then a?
MaMa just delivered what they thought were about 100 newts - more like 150 babies, into the pond. Now, the pond is tiny but the bigger newts will head on out to the river.
Have had the neighbours kids here for a bit too, printing off some Uni papers - we've been talking about when I travelled and just stuff - such lovely kidlets, very lovely.
Got to get an early night - big long day tomorrow.
Hoping our Bosun BEAgle will be back with us soon and very pleased to see Boida posting already, having been zapped. DONE NOW BOIDA... DONE!
Hoping the BlueFella will find his way back here (((((((Blue)))))))) xox x
Lovin' y'all x

Izzie, Wandering and rambling.
As far as captains go, youda best. As far as yabbering goes, gotta admit I can't follow it all.
Boida - don't worry about the yabbering - we do go off on a lot of different tangents - keeping a close on eye on your thread tho, no worries. Yep, this crew is da best
I have to go to bed - too tooo tired to even move - work is so busy. I have two knees - both of which are collapsing and I keep falling down - my joints are heavily pained today and swollen - nasty 'ole business and very inconvenient - can't use a pen, but I can type oof - think I need me to see a doc soonish. Gonna sleep for a little bit and will be back to see y'all later.
<exhausted>
Missy - hope your allergies are better today - know you've got a busy run ahead of you - will hopefully catchup with you later. x
((((((((((((((BEAgle)))))))))))))) - hoping you'll be back soon D - missing you. x
