you sound more and more like your Blue Brother every day...are you taking up Campanology now Bosun....
good grief... read this...
Call change ringing
Most ringers begin their ringing career with call change ringing; they can thus concentrate on learning the physical skills needed to handle their bells without needing to worry about methods. There are also many towers where experienced ringers practise call change ringing as an art in its own right (and even exclusively), particularly in the English county of Devon.
no no no, don't stop there... you have to read the whole article - really, it's very interesting!!!!!!!!!!

BEAgle - nah, I didn't sleep well - had an oooooof night! Was far too wide awake last night and tho I dropped down to sleep eventually, I just could not sleep. So, today is going to be a very taking it easy day. I will have a great Sunday thanku. How was yours? Whattya been up to today then? Cricket all day?
Izzie I looked at the times of your postings which gave me the idea you slept well, good idea to take it easy today.
My Sunday was pretty uneventful, a nice day so had a quick dip in the sea, and for the rest watched some tennis and the cricket between Australia and Pakistan.
I do know verbivore has a weakness for chocolate so I'm giving her a gentle hint.
No nap - but that's not a problem. We have been carving soap. Yes...three little boys with knives. Sc-sc-scary.
But they did great - made little boats out of Ivory Soap...tooth picks as masts and paper as sails...jolly roger flying atop.
Slow day. Good day.
icecream is calling. rather loudly.
yum..
hugs to all
mis

@Izzie,
Hey crew,when I knock on Verbs door I will be carrying a large bunch of flowers,which I promised her months ago,along with a selection of Brit and US chocolate.
mismi clever ...carving little boats out of soap. What a great way to proove that little boys really aren't allergic to soap. Or maybe it's just when it's soap mixed with water in a tub that they try to avoid
Kitties decided to bring me a mouse at 5am!!!!!!! Then I had to chase them around the house and catch the mouse.
Not amused! Very lttle sleep
I've been keeping the kitchen door into the hall open at night because it's been so cold in the conservatory for them to sleep. Now it's a little warmer, back at they go into the conservatory. They have baskets and blankets out there... ack - no more mouse trapping at 5am!!!!!!!!!!

@verbivore,
Hi verbivore, you sound like a very happy girl today, is that because you're celebrating being on board of a2k for two years? I remember when I first met you, they are good memories, you've come a long way and have made many friends. This forum is certainly a great way to communicate with people from all over the world, although we'll probably never meet one another, we seem to get to know each other pretty well, we're like one big family. Have a nice day and have a piece of chocolate for the occasion.
Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o' the puddin-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy o' a grace
As lang's my arm.
The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o' need,
While thro' your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead.
His knife see rustic Labour dicht,
An' cut you up wi' ready slicht,
Trenching your gushing entrails bricht,
Like ony ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sicht,
Warm-reekin, rich!
Then, horn for horn, they stretch an' strive:
Deil tak the hindmaist! on they drive,
Till a' their weel-swall'd kytes belyve,
Are bent like drums;
Then auld Guidman, maist like to rive,
"Bethankit" hums.
Is there that o're his French ragout
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
Wi' perfect scunner,
Looks down wi' sneering, scornfu' view
On sic a dinner?
Poor devil! see him ower his trash,
As feckless as a wither'd rash,
His spindle shank, a guid whip-lash,
His nieve a nit;
Thro' bloody flood or field to dash,
O how unfit!
But mark the Rustic, haggis fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread.
Clap in his wallie nieve a blade,
He'll mak it whistle;
An' legs an' arms, an' heads will sned,
Like taps o' thristle.
Ye Pow'rs wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o' fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinkin ware
That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu' prayer, Gie her a haggis!
A Burns supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns, author of many Scots poems. The suppers are normally held on or near the poet's birthday, 25 January, sometimes also known as Robert Burns Day or Burns Night (Burns Nicht), although they may in principle be held at any time of the year.
Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it;
But we hae meat, and we can eat,
Sae let the Lord be thankit...
