Congrats to IZ on the boiler fix. Well done.
I finally figured out what gritting the roads means.
(um, we 'mericans SAND our roads), grit is what you do with your teeth in stressful situations as driving on unsanded icy roads.)

Cold, cold, cold here. Wouldn't do any good to try and warm the bed with a hair dryer. Couldn't move fast enough to get between the sheets and blankets and the comforter.

The rivers have some ice on them, but I keep reminding myself that this is not as cold as it used to be. In the 1800's they used to hold all winter markets on the ice covering the East River in a solid 24 inch thick floe that was continuous up to Harlem.

Joe(still, that does not warm me.)Nation

@Izzie,
Ah, Izzie, what you need is a warming pan and a lullabye.

http://www.antiques-atlas.com/dealer-stock-images/denbighshireantiques/ac045a063b.jpg

There's a legend about the song/poem Rock a bye Baby.

Many claim that poem is strewn full of political symbolism referring to the events that preceded the revolution during King James II of England’s reign. Rumour has it; a baby was smuggled into the birthing chamber of King James II’s wife in a warming pan to insure a Catholic heir. The wind apparently can be symbolic for William of Orange coming from the Netherlands to dispose of King James II and the cradle represents the fall of the House of Stuart monarchy.

Bonzer to see ya Dutchy mate, I hope the big wet is on its way to ya. What about that Missy then, ain't she a right rip snorter!
Anyhoo; get well soon.

I doubt Alex is talking to me any more since I had my 1951 80" Indian Blackhawk Chief, (50th Anniversary Model 351) sprayed red!

Still, I well remember Joe(I can run much faster than Tryagain)Homeland never so much as passed the time of day with me during my last run. That is something you don't expect from a guy who is so good at Scrabble!

So, is a melon a fruit or a vegetable? I ask due to the rebuke I received from Missy yesterday, and in a concerted effort to ingratiate myself and knowing she cultivates a small vegetable garden I did not want to be seen enquiring after her melons!

Also in an earnest effort to allay the growing concern about possible malnutrition, I have passed your details to the Red Cross and the food parcels will start to arrive shortly.

Drive carefully Tulip and may the spirits of the Druids guide you.

JW, I have sent your picture for a forensic scan to see if any Photoshop air brushing has take place as I find it difficult to reconcile myself with the fact that you look so young and virile.

Congratulations Izzie on your plumbing skills. I have just returned from the cold and my pipe is freezing; is that something you can handle?

Would you advise defrosting with a blowgun or possibly steam?

To see a picture of it, click Here

Ok, enough of this dross, I must get back to my medical study. It comes in eight parts; I have just finished 'G' so I must start on preparation H.

Waves to all.

Ya pudding!

I would certainly advise getting a firm grip on the pipe with a ratchet and get a slight flex on the hose - you wouldn't want to burn your fingers. Ice burn can be nasty! Be careful it doesn't break off in your hand...no ice with a slice.

We wouldn't want it looking like this, would be Blue...

http://www.buycontacthasbegun.com/images/IceTongue.jpg

An enormous iceberg, C-16, rammed into the well-known Drygalski Ice Tongue, a large sheet of glacial ice and snow in the Central Ross Sea in Antarctica, on 30 March 2006, breaking off the tongue’s easternmost tip and forming a new iceberg.

Don't forget to turn off the stop cock to ensure there are no spillages... I already made a mess - I wouldn't like for you to have to mop your bathroom floor! <where's our Babbling when you need to clean up a?????> Wink

When you have re-pressurised your system... screw the nuts tightly and turn on the stop cock. Then, your plumbing will be sorted. Just like mine. Razz

What a load of Go-nada...... sorry.... nomad nonsense - fibre fella, that'll be all the preparation you need! <pass the shreddies>

I love that you're back Blue! (I'm so on the wrong thread right now a? - ha!) So very happy to see you. Waves back....xox

Next, I'll be getting overexcited about the first buds of Spring. It's on it's way, ya know!!!!!!!!!!!

So c'mon, when's the next race... do I need to go check Facebook <prolly a?>

Hugging you heaps J...

@Letty,
LettyBettyLetty - that's exactly what I need!!!!!!! I also need the butler to go with it.

It's been such a massive day workwise - I'm dealing with the VERY CRANKY AND UPTIGHT parent who is positively plain obnoxious at times. Tsk Tsk Tsk.

and smile....

We had a meeting tonite that was supposed to last 30 mins... which of course rolled into 2 hours... but we did do quite a bit of laughing and pottering around the school looking at fire hydrants, hazardous materials and boxes falling off shelves. Just love health and saftey in a school Shocked It's amazing what you can do with a bottle of ink!!!!!!! Razz (dispensed with now, it's too horrifying to think about)

Now, Millie, The African Millipede, well, we're keeping her out of the school for the audit next week - I don't think there is a risk assessment for Giant African Millipedes. Wink

Will be popping by for a lullaby later - thanku Letty - thinking of you too. xxxxxx

@FlavourQueen,
Morning all. Thank you for your kind words Tryagain but please keep out of mismi's veggie patch and leave her melons alone. Take note of Izzie's hand guide to fix your pipe and don't screw it up. Studying medicine eh, becoming a witch doctor?

FlavourQueen good to see you, obviously coping well with the snow and ice as you're out and about quite a bit aren't you? I'm proud of 'sis' too for fixing her boiler, I was afraid the cold would be to much, what a spirited girl.

Hi Izzie, pleased to see you put in a long day of work, no stopping you once you get going, is there! Busy day today as tomorrow our overseas visitor arrives, Mrs. B likes everything to be spick and span, like cleaning the windows and sweeping the drive-way.

Back later.
