Thank you, Izzie. The big kids will be flying in from California in about three weeks. I will probably have a new photo to post. I am still praying for verbivore and family. Thanks for keeping us up to date.

Hi all.

Ooh a back rub with eucalyptus oil sounds just the ticket! And I can't pass on any germs if it's virtual.

The infection is responding to the antibiotics I think -- at least there's no frightening burbling in my lungs -- but the cough just won't quit. It's bugging me that I'm missing work since pre-Christmas is the only time I get offered a decent number of shifts. Well, I can hardly work if a somewhat full bladder and a coughing fit could lead to instant humiliation, eh? So, maybe off for a chest x-ray tomorrow (next step I was told if things don't improve...)

Glad you're sounding better, Izzie. Hoping for positive news from the Verbivore family.

@Tai Chi,
Hi Tai Chi, sorry to hear of your ongoing health problems, hope the X-rays tomorrow give you the all clear and nature's healing course plus antibitics will lead to a rapid recovery. Get annis to give you a rub, she is marvellous, and I talk from experience. Wink Smile

MISSY " GET YOUR BOOK OUT

WE HAVE THE BEST NEWS Very Happy

I have just spoken with our MaMaVerby " she was just bubbling with delight " ok ok ok.... first of all " SHE CAN HOLD HER BABY, SHE HAS FED HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY AND SHE CAN CUDDLE HIM IN HER ARMS....

Right... must stop shouting <cough>

The doctors have literally just scanned the little fella and there does not appear to be any damage to his kidneys " massive relief " they will not have to perform major surgery on his kidneys as expected because, they are working " YAY for those kidneys. So, tomorrow he will have the surgery to remove the blockage from the ureter but it’s anticipated this will go well, tho everyone is well aware of the possibility of complications. Positive thinking, it’s a must.

She was so happy. SHE WAS SO HAPPY.

Oh, it was so good to hear the relief in her voice, she couldn’t get the words out quick enough that his kidneys were good. She is so happy to have been able to hold him and feed him. Ahhhhhhhhhh...

He still requires just a little help with his oxygen levels, but for the most part he is breathing well on his own. He may have to stay in hospital a little longer to ensure that he’s stable with his O2 before they can take him home, but I reassured her that's not a bad thing because it will give her more confidence when they do get to take him home. I believe that Eby’s parents are going to be staying a while longer so she will not be on her own at home and will have some help and support from them.

Well, what can you say a?

Just fabulous news - certainly a great way to start the Thanksgiving Holiday stateside and to be thankful for around the world.

Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

@Tai Chi,
Now, TC " what’s happening with you girl? How is the chest and are you going to have an x-ray? Thinking about you and hoping the infection will be knocked on the head with the antibiotics. Do get it checked out if you're not improving and keep that puffer going.

Still croaky here and coughing but finally my head seems to not hurt so bad " one more day of antibiotics. My parents are now both sick, my nephew has been very poorly " flu / swine flu / bug... whatever it is " it’s very nasty. Horrible virus.

@Izzie,
I am crying. I am so glad that these prayers have been answered! Please tell Mamaverb that I am so happy and I would love to give her a big hug and I am so thrilled that verbaby is being held and loved by his Mama.

I will be extending my electric fence. I didn't do the back yard and Pistol has been hopping over and hanging out with a little girl huskey. He's fixed...but apparently she is more appealing than Biscuit. DOG. Wink So...off to pull line. I will turn off the little box first. Razz

Take care Izzie. Keep resting.

Tai Chi - you too. I know it's hard missing work. But you will be okay. You just have to get well first.

Dutchy, Alex, Didge, Rock, JPB, and the rest of this sweet crew (Try included) big hugs and kisses to each and every one of you.

I hope to be back soon. Got a busy few days ahead of me - fun -but busy!

Wow that's great news and definitely worth repeating wandeljw. Really, really, really great news. I'm so happy for the verbivores. To finally be able to hold their little guy -- just terrific!

I'm just back from getting the chest x-ray and the news is good. Unfortunately the cough just will not quit even with the puffer. Other than over the counter cough suppressants I was given no clue how to deal with it. Not sleeping well as I wake myself up coughing. Can't possibly go back to work wearing a mask. So...

But, hey, my lungs are clear!

@Tai Chi,
good news... but doesn't stop you coughing a?

our "coughs" have been going on for ... hmmmm... S-boy started about 3 weeks ago and is still barking and I know Tulips S-girl and F-boy are both still barking coughing too.... weeeeeeeks

it's pants because they say you just have to wait it out.

Tulip did some of her aromatherapy on F-boy the other day which actually eased his coughing for a little while - hopefully she will be on later and can let you know what is was that helped. (if she doesn't pop by I will call her - she has her exams tomorrow so I think she will be revising tonite)

If it's a similar bug to what we have over here TC - the cough may go on for a while - and it's frustrating as heck because you end up coughing throughout the nite too.

My cough wasn't a nasty hacking barking cough like the kids had - just a continual cough cough cough that made my ribs sore and sore throat - the chesty cough benylin did ease it a bit, but again, only temporarily. Mine has started easing now - but it's been over 2 weeks.

Glad to hear the x-rays were clear but I know that it doesn't actually make you feel any better. Hoping it will calm down soon and you'll be able to get a decent night's sleep (are you sitting up at night - I must've spent around 4 nights sitting up because I couldn't lie down without my head hurting and then coughing to boot). Oh... mebbe stay off milk products too... milk is apparently not good for chesty coughs (doesn't work for me, no hot chocolate at nite... harumph!)

ahhhhhh Mis - I cried down the phone (skype) interspersed with laughter and coughs too. I will copy all the messages to her via her friends email. Gonna call her tomorrow after the op - she does know that everyone is thinking about them and is so thankful to everyone for all their prayers, omms, wishes and good thoughts. Could really 'feel' the hope in her voice today and the love at being able to hold and feed her little boy - goosebumps.... good goosebumps. Wonderful news.

Now Missy girlie.... TURN OFF THE ELECTRIC FIRST - please, do be careful - please please please.

Have some pictures to post if I can get myself organised... have had a furry critter visiting for a couple days... there's been a mooooouse in my hooooooouse, which I don't mind rescuing, but this wee mouse decided to take up residency from the jaws of Murphy to the Great Mouse Escapade under the piano. Everything.... bar the piano... got moved. Don't mind a visit - but so not having a mouse run around the house - the cats and dawgs have been going mad for 2 days - this morning tho.... RESULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will try and post pics later.

TC - I found that when I got to coughing really badly, that going outside into the cold helped some. Admittedly, our cold is not the same as your cold - but I have the house temperature well hot (conducive to viral-bug heaven Rolling Eyes). Lots of hot drinks (there's a thing) and keep using your inhaler. Ask Mr FixIt to rub some Vicks onto your ....errrr..... back! Wink

Hope your boss will be understanding - I rang mine today, left a message on the school phone and emailed her. She hasn't returned either. Ho Hum. Nem'mind. What can you do a?

@Izzie,
Morning crew. Great news about our jewel from the east, verbivore, what a relief that must be, thanks for your efforts in telling us Izzie.

Bosun is up early, woken up by possums fighting on my roof, must be mating season. About to put my sneakers on and going for a stroll through the vineyards.

Hope the sick amongst us feel heaps better today, keep the sunshine in your life Izzie and Tai Chi.

Where is our lovely Brooke?

@Izzie,
Just talked to my boss on the phone and I've got the rest of the week off. It's my weekend off anyway so it means I'm good 'til Tuesday (yay!) She does not want me spreading this thing throughout the department figuring it's easier to find one person to cover my shifts than to try and cover 2 or 3 people if I come back early and infect everybody.

I try to sleep sitting up but it doesn't seem to help. And the weather is NOT cooperating. Normally we'd have cold weather and snow by now (not that I'm hoping for snow!) but it's rainy and damp and 10 degrees! I think that's part of the problem.

(Anybody hear from mismi? Did she turn off the current this time?)

"Anybody heard from mismi? Did she turn off the current this time?". Well I don't expect to hear from her for a little while Tai Chi as in her last post she wrote "I hope to be back soon. Got a busy few days ahead of me - fun -but busy!" A real goal getter this one once she gets moving. Smile

@Tai Chi,
((TAI CHI)) I did. I'm fine...and doggies are safely corralled again. I hope. No shocks...accidentally - I did have to test it. - and I don't have one of those testers so my finger had to do Shocked ow.

Take care of yourself girl...I know you want to be up and doing - but just take it easy - you too Izzie.

I have been cleaning and cooking like a mad woman though. I couldn't find my driveway for all the leaves - so I had to wade out there and blow those babies away. Fun....but done. Wink

Dutchy hope all is well with you and yours. I am "go getting" to be sure! Wink ((Dutchy)).

((JPB)) Happy Thanksgiving enjoy your holiday...

and to all the rest of you. BLESSINGS and BUNCHES OF THEM!

Still just thrilling from Verbaby and his sweet family. Makes my heart want to bust! So happy. Prayers still going though.

see y'all soon
