@annis,
Hey Tulip...

oh, seems like everyone we know has got this bug... don't know if it's the flu or Sflu - but it's nasty nasty. S-boy's temp was 104deg yesterday - he hasn't had a fever like this since he was a wee S-boy. He's still barking coughing - not quite so bad tho - a majority of his school is now off sick... hope S-girl feels better soon and that F-boy stays clear - keep me posted girl. Very much hoping we won't get it too. I'm sneezing and have a pathetic little cough starting... really hoping it won't develop into anything, I'm way overtired, that's prolly more of the problem. S-boy is sleeping right now.

Had work - 6 hours with my foot below a desk has made my foot swell badly - terribly sore to walk on it... havta go do it all again tomorrow. Oy.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spoke to our MaMaVerby and sent all your wishes.

VerbyBaby is now in an isolation ward. The pneumonia he has is contagious so they needed to move him into his own little room; he continues to be ventilated. MaMaVerby says thanku to everyone who is thinking of her and praying for them.... please keep it going. Eby's parents have been staying in the Verby House and come to the hospital each day, tho they are not able to be with their grandson, only his Ma & Pa. MaMaVerby is eating well and drinking lots. She laughed today - I thought I was going to sneeze down the phone and did an "a a a...." with no choo on the end - t'was good to hear her laugh a little. Bless her.

She has also received phonecalls from her PaPa - this is very special for her.

Eby finishes work around 7.30pm - 8pm and spends the nights at the hospital. They are sharing a room with another family - so there's not much privacy. She did sound a little better today, ya know, a little stronger - so that's good - she's still exhausted - 2 hourly feeds (expressing).

Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmming, praying, wishing, hoping for our MaMaV and her family. Ommmmmmmmmmmmmm

tired... going to rest for a bit...

wishing all a good day. x

@Izzie,
Iz, that is an extremely high fever for Sboy to have. What does his doctor recommend? Bud awakened with that kind of fever late one evening, and I did an alcohol rub.

@Izzie,
Morning crew, the bosun is back, wandering very carefully seeing that the ladies are gunning for me. Please Izzie, take me under your wing, that gal down south worries me, the graying one up north I'm uncertain off, probably only will throw snowballs.

Best wishes to S-boy and S-girl, must be a worrying time for you mothers seeing your children with such high temperatures. High temperatures here too, 39 plus here today, or 103 in the US.

Sending heaps of vibes to verbivore and family, thanks for the info. Izzie.

@Letty,
Hey Letty

yep, seeing high temps with this age is worrying. I called the doc and Tulip has done the assessment for Sflu etc.... it's hard coz they meet all the symptoms/criteria....

however

S-boy has improved unbelievably in the last few hours...

his temp is still between 101 and 102... but he's not coughing so much and he looks better - he looked soooo poorly yesterday, now he looks tired and washed out - but so much better

Tulip's S-girl has the real high fever too now and Tulip got the authorisation number to get tamiflu (you can get it online or over the phone)

I dunno tho ... ya know, the doctor doesn't actually see the patient but they are giving this medication out if you suspect Sflu - certainly it may be a safe medication and I think if S-boy were still poorly like yesterday I would consider it, if his fever wasn't breaking...but

S-boy has really improved so I don't think it's the flu or Sflu - I think it's just a real nasty nasty bug and it's gone wildfire around the kids schools. We have to be very careful with Tulip's F-boy - he's at greater risk because of his heart problems - it's a tough decision to make to give medication that, quite honestly, we don't know an awful lot about it. I've been reading up on it today and I should also take it.... "just in case"... but....

hmmmmmmm... seeing how much S-boy has got better in the last few hours - I think for us 2, I'll leave it for the moment and keep everything crossed that we won't go down with it and hope the S-girl improves overnight too. My colleagues children were diagnosed and were very very sick - I don't think Sboy had the same thing as them tho.

Of course, I could be completely wrong - fingers crossed tho.

Hoping my pathetic eck eck cough and headhurt will disappear after a good night's sleep. As for my foot, I can't weight bear - flipping pain in the bahookie, or ankle as the case may be. sheesh. nem'mind.

@Dutchy,
So glad I can still inspire terror in big, bad, eagles! (Too true that my padding came in handy and I only have a couple of colourful bruises to show for my tumble. No -- I'm not showing YOU.)

Izzie, I'm glad you got a chance to talk to Verbivore and she's looking after herself properly.

Hope all the nasty viruses going around are conquered soon!

(Caught the back of my hand on a shelf today and didn't notice 'til I bled all over the place. Just a scratch! Honestly I'm wondering what is up with me these days...)

Izzie, glad to hear S-boy is feeling better. Nasty stuff going around school these days.

mismi, I've been thinking about you and your family and hoping you all fared well through Ida. I have family in Biloxi, Mobile and Orlando, and have heard scary stories about hurricanes. Even when not devastating they can be a terrible nuisance. Hope it was nothing more than a passing pest for you.

@Stormwatch,
Hey there Stormy,
Thanks for asking - Ida was no bad at all. Maybe a few trees down - but that can happen in a regular rain storm down there when the ground gets soaked. Everyone in my family are doing fine...a lot of tree branches and such .

We have been getting the feeder bands today. A whole lot of rain. Tomorrow we are suppose to get the wind. So bizarre.

((Izzie)) Do whatever you can to stave that off. Keep yourself warm, and know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know. I know.

Dutchy - Do your best to stay out of trouble please Wink -

Tai Chi - I hate to say it...but you are sounding very much like me. I went to buy firewood today. I live on a pretty big hill...driving up it I heard the cords shift....but it never crossed my mind to stand back when opening the hatch - they fell on my foot...you will be proud to know that no one ugly word came out of my mouth. I might have thought something though...

My fellows are home for Veterans Day tomorrow - so we are going to be pretty busy.

Hugs to all,
mis

@Rockhead,
I am sorry Rock...ouch. I love a good swear rant though...Wink Hope that ankle is ok. But no spillage - that's impressive.

Thanks for sweeping...you probably prevented Tai Chi or myself from slipping on banana peels tossed out by Dutchy. Razz

Me too RH...thinking of Mamaverb, Verbaby, and Daddyverb.

Going to get my jammies on. And getting my glass of wine. Feels like someone is pinching me right between my shoulder blades. ow.

Do your best and stay out of trouble she says at the same time alleging I'm a banana peel tosser. Well my dear favourite southern belle, I will be cheeky and tell you, I shall not peck you on the cheeks, but smack those 'prominent' cheeks I usually refer to, so that you have really something to rant about. Razz Wink

@Izzie,

The wonderful thing about tiggers
Is tiggers are wonderful things!
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs!
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about tiggers is
I'm the only one !

That looks lovely McTag. (Oh to be there right now.)

Yes, mismi, you have competition! (Not one bad word? How many then?)

Off to the salt mines to see how much damage I can do today...
