Checking in myself...no word....shoot.

It was Fun Friday today at school....this is what we did....

Cha Cha Slide

then:

Cupid Shuffle - so cute...

then to G-baby's class and :

trust me - if you do it with conviction, like it's not totally stupid, it's amazing how much kids enjoy it. Wish I could have video taped it for you...really.

My boys taught me...I taught my kids at school. We laughed and laughed...wish I had video of some of the older ladies trying to do it. Too, too funny!

Thoughts and prayers with Verby and Verbaby and Eby. Hearts been fluttering about it all day.

hugs guys.

@Izzie,
Hi Izzie, enjoying a quiet Saturday night with a cool drink, strong enough to toast Letty's Birthday. Let's hope no news from verbivore's camp is good news. Busy Sunday ahead as having visitors from Interstate, need to show them around and do a bit of wine tasting. May make that beer as we're heading for a 36 degree day. Wishing all the crew a great weekend.

That's what I'm hoping too. Nerve-wracking though.

In honour of Letty's birthday I am going to a party tonight. I am soooooo not a party person...(Another Hallowe'en birthday girl, Letty) Wish me luck and sparkling conversation (I am barely acquainted with a handful of people...)

Silvadene cream is amazing. The metallic etched design on plate stayed a few thousand degrees warm, after plate cooled. Two weeks, fingers finally looking better.
Where has Stomwatch and devriesj been? Perhaps I have missed their posts.

@JustBrooke,
Look at all the sweet faces! Thoughts are all with Mamaverb and Eby and baby...still thinking and praying.

Resting those toots Iz? Any more doggy doo-doo scooping? Man - I wish I were closer...I would send the three Taz's. I would keep them on leashes for you. But they do know how to pick up dog doo doo. talented they are.

Happy Happy Birthday Letty! Have a wonderful day!

Brooke so good to see you!

You too TaiChi...Here's wishing a wealth of witty things to say and a fun time for you. Not that you need good luck or special wishes...I am sure you are juuuuuust fine.

Dear Dutchy - enjoy your evening...I will be raising a nice Sam Adams this evening...I'll drink one for you!

Alex - no, they are so used to my goofiness they don't even think about it. As a matter of fact I did produce one just like me that will throw down anytime anywhere! Wink He's quite the dancer...and happens to be just like me when it comes to entertaining. He's alllllll about it.

I bought some little horns today. They are barrettes and go on top of my head so that I look like I have a nice little set of red horns. AND I bought false eyelashes...ridiculously long with these funny little - well...they are cute. Red lipstick and black pants and shirt - pretty laid back...but I am just walking around with the kids Trick-or-Treating so I would say for a non-kid it's pretty dressed up for Halloween! Wink Oh - and I bought some glow sticks so I won't get run over in the black. Very Happy....that would ruin Halloween I am thinking.

Hugs Y'all.

Pictures gal.... we need pics of you and the kidz.

Don’t ya just love false eyelashes " FQ and I did that for a New Years Party (oof, think you may have seen the photos) " thing is, they’re great, til half a one becomes unglued.. then... well, you have a spider crawling across your eye ... NASTY!!!!! I would LOVE to long dark eyelashes, blonde so doesn’t do it! (Rolling Eyes) Thanku mascara inventorererererer.

So... FQ+4 left at lunchtime and are now safely back in Essex. It was so good having them down. We missed them as soon as the car drove off and we could no longer hear the love youze up the road. FQ J-daughter loved the University down here.... hopefully she’ll be down in a couple weeks to go back for a couple days for get a feel for the place.

My car is now tucked up in a garage in the town somewhere " it’s not happy and K-bro is totally gutted " he’s just beside himself. Keeping everything crossed that they can drain the petrol and the engine will work. One of those cases of , “‘it happens”, nowt to be done about it, just... fingers crossed. If there’s a problem, well... let’s go with “all will be fine”. Did take some really funny photos tho... you’ve never seen anything quite like FQ in her heels + bro and kids pushing the car off the drive and up the road to the RAC van to be towed. (fingers crossed please, I need a car).

S-boy is on his first boy/girl sleepover birthday party tonite.... I believe there are around 15 kidz going to be staying over (are those parents mad!!!!!!!!!!!> 15 sleeping over. OMGAWSH. He was “well looking forward to it” " now.... if only I knew where ONE of the 5 sleeping bags was, that would have been helpful " he’s taken a doona and pillow " it will have to suffice!

OK... off to get something to eat. Will be around a little later no doubt.

Lovin’ y’all. Near and far.

(oh, someone is letting fireworks off and the dawgs are going ape... off to sort them out first methinks...... lots of barking and growling.... and my dawgs don’t bark or growl)

I can't remember which is worse for an engine, putting petrol in a diesel tank or vice versa.

That vice versa is lethal stuff.

@McTag,
ahhhhhhhhhhh.... well, funny thing was (ok, well not funny, but ya know...) - K-bro was distraught, I mean really distraught - so when the RAC man arrived FQ and I were talking to him and asked that question...

yep... Petrol into diesel is the lethal injection...

so... we thought, OK, we won't tell K-bro, then, he walked out the house and said "phew, thank goodness it wasnt the bad way round" (well, actually, his language was a little more colourful than that, but you get the gist) and then before we could stop the RAC man, he told K-bro it was. Poor K-bro - he is so upset. Love him.

All to do with lubrication - wouldn't ya know it. Unleaded into diesel engine, no lubrication, all the parts grind together... so I read earlier.

http://motortorque.askaprice.com/articles/auto-0711/help-ive-put-petrol-in-a-diesel-engine-frequently-asked-questions.asp#commform

Petrol in a diesel engine
Breakdown organisations put the figure of petrol misfuelling at around 150,000 cars a year, with repair bills totalling hundreds of millions of pounds.

Petrol will strip your diesel engine of the lubricant used to keep it ticking over and cause metal components to grate against each other and disintegrate.

This runs the risk of damaging the fuel pump and fuel-injection systems, or wrecking an engine completely if used for a significant amount of time.

To make matters worse pre-ignition systems start fuel pumps in new diesel models when car doors are unlocked. This cuts out the time it takes for new diesel engines to warm up, but means that diesel engines can be ruined by petrol by simply unlocking doors.

The fuel pump and injection systems and filters will likely need to be replaced on new models, while an entire engine could be wrecked beyond repair if it has been run for long enough. Regardless of the extent of the damage, the repair bill could potentially run into thousands of pounds.

Avoiding turning the engine over or stopping as soon as possible is vital to prevent more damage to the engine in these circumstances. A fuel-tank drain could be sufficient in such cases to prevent damage.

Anyhoo - I've been doing some www investigating and posted something on a site where there were lots of posts about people doing the same thing. (above). There's a range of "did a drain and 30K miles later all is still fine and never been a problem" to "has cost me £4K so far..." on other sites.

Whatever happens tho - it was an " 'it happens" thing - and... it's a car - fingers crossed I'll be one of the lucky ones where there won't be any problems. Ya know where we are McT- you can't get around without a car here - no public transport... so, it's gotta be alright, right! Razz

I've got a feeling - I reckon it will be OK. It's my silver-blue baby - it has to be - I love my car Very Happy

<if it isn't, it will still be OK>

<FQ will get some mileage out of FQhubby mickey taking... believe me - ha!> Razz

@Izzie,
Oh Iz...I just looked at my pictures...I had my eyelashes and horns on - but I don't think you can see them very well...I had just finished doing my little Grim Reapers makeup...the rest of the time I was behind the camera....I will post them. The boys turned out great...they are pretty scary to me. And thankfully all the green hairspray washed out pretty easily. They had black makeup up their nose though...I can only think of one way that happened and well..yuck.

Well - I am afraid the Prof and J loved my false eyelashes...I told them to forget about it-no way will I put those things on every day...I kept trying to brush my bangs out of my eyes only to remember it was the dadgum eyelashes. My neighbor and I decided I should wear the horns to church tomorrow. Very Happy heh heh.

Nitey nite sweet folks.
Happy Halloween!

@mismi,
Hey Crew

oh..... what to say, I have stuff to say.... first tho, I'm afraid no news from our Little One's friend yet, so.... I talked to FQ about this and I think I will ring India a little later... I'm thinking that if Littler One was operated on that they will be at the hospital for a lengthy stay but maybe Eby's parents will be staying and we can get a message to Vegemite. Just hoping, wishing, praying...... ommmmmmmmmmmmmmming for our sweet child in the East.

Oh Mis, would love to see the pics of the boyz and one of you if you can. So glad you had a great time. I had one of those freaky nites... I stepped outside and an owl flew over the top of the house to join another owl... I thought owls were territorial (may be wrong there) - anyhoo - this owl concert was going on... but ya know, it was a very haunting and a little scary hearing the two of them playing a melody together. Mist was down and the river was loud... Halloween... and have a monster axe sitting in my kitchen at the moment (chopping log axe) - and all yukky movies on the haunted fish tank (TV) - so... eeeeeuuuuuugggghhh <shudder>. Rarely, if ever, do I get nervous here on own - SO SO rarely. Halloween does freak me out. (whus).

So.... my news is.... YOU.WOULD.NOT.BELIEVE.WHAT.G.DID.THIS.MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He filled his pride and joy, big VW van, with PETROL - IT'S. A. DIESEL.... got 3 miles, spluttered......... DONE. (yep, I know, it really doesn't sound believable, does it. I thought he was playing a trick on me when he phoned, 'til I heard him attempt to start it whilst he was talking to me "NOOOOOOOO, don't start it again Rolling Eyes" doh! ) Oh my Oh my Oh my. He is gutted at the stupidity of it - what a numpty. He rang, whilst abandoned on one of the tiny roads by Brentor (one lane roads) - his ghast is flabbered. He says he got to the gas station and all he could think was, don't do a K-bro.... and promptly did a K-bro, drove off and then - hit's his head with his hands as the van kerplunked. So..... Mr.Top.Gear - as he likes to believe he is (oh deary me) is now with a mate having pushed the van along a bit to unblock the road. and they are attempting to drain down themselves by unscrewing the tank...

what is going on in Devon right now... hard to believe 2 blokes have done this in 2 days - and both are as gutted as each other.

Well, I couldn't laugh... well, ya know, not on the phone to him - so I phoned FQ and then had a fit of the giggles (this is actually very NOT funny), spoke to K-bro who said he feels a smidgen less bad at his faux pas, but his faux pas was with my car ... which for him is a big deal.

And now I wait to hear from G (who was, errrrrr, shall we say, not.too.happy.and.kicking.himself.in.the.shins - he definitely had a "mantrum" (us wimmins have hissy fits, they mantum")

wha.... did someone put something in the water in Devon - NIGHTMARE.

So, yep yep yep, nothing horrendous in the emotional stakes in the UK - just a case of the Numpties Rool at the moment - and we are now carless. Shocked

oh my!

S-boy has come back from his sleepover (after panic phone call with my Mom for her to kindly go pick him up because there is no-one else who can) - he's come back very tired, very grumpy and is now in his room - SLEEPING I believe! hmmmmmm. Sleepovers! He did have the wicked best time tho - just, they didn't sleep at all. Razz Fortunately, no school for him tomorrow as I found out it is a non-pupil day - so, he can catch up and hopefully wake up a in a couple hours and be less cranky.

OK... wittering... I need to be quiet a? lallalalllalallalla

<oh... zombie child is walking the house, he.is.not.asleep.>

ohhhhhhhh...

it's stormy outside, I need some peace, think I ought go sit by my babbling brook for a bit with a big doona wrapped around me and a hot cuppa...

gosh, it's November.... NOVEMBER already... where has time gone.. NOVEMBER!!!!!

Hoping Alex, TC and BEAgle all had great evenings and enjoyed their parties. Very Happy

Missing the crew who are on extended shoreleave... hoping all are fine. (((((((Blue))))))))((((((((JPB)))))))))) I miss StevieBoy too.

@Izzie,
Hi Izzie, had a long day with my friends, they drove over 2000km to get here, spent the day with us and promptly returned home tonight to do it all again. I tell you two strong Aussie maidens. Was great to catch up though.

I cannot believe what you wrote about the wrong fuel being poured in a car which drives on diesel, that should not be possible! I know a diesel nozzle will not fit a petrol tank here, and a petrol nozzle will not fit a diesel tank. Isn't that policy inforce in the UK?

Closing down for tonight, will catch you in the morning. Nite, nite.

Don't know about policy, Dutchy, but my car (which is newish) has a diesel filler which only suits diesel nozzles.

Hey BEAgle... ahh, great you had a good time... gosh... such huge distances to travel Shocked <Our country is so tiny> Glad you enjoyed tho - how were the wines? Very Happy Have a big sleep hun and will see you in the morning. x

Over here diesel fuel nozzles won't go into petrol ones now (too big)... but yep, t'other way around can happen all too easily. Wouldn't ya just know it! Shocked Maddening. Oh dear. Thing is, my car is only 2.5 years old.... I did read that they are making some new cars (e.g. Ford Focus) now to ensure that only the correct nozzle can go in.

seriously... you won't believe this... it's true... my older brother (blood bro) is at Sourton Garage near Okehampton... he's just done the same thing. Petrol into diesel. He's in tears. I don't believe it... this is the most bizarre thing ever. He has a new car (a year old) and is actually in tears.

This is just bizarre.

Did someone do some hokey-pokey over Halloween.

BIZARRE!

beyond funny now Shocked
