Izzn't it just... WOTCHA STORMY - hugs to you gal - we had a massive storm today in the SouthWest. Reckon I had me a birds eye view out the window. Thanku for your wishes... so very good to see you... Hope kids and doing well and NBigLitlBoy is enjoying the game. Hoping too that school is good and you're coping with the beauracratic changes taking place on a daily basis.


We've got 41 kids at the moment (plus 5 part timers)... and our first confirmed dx of Swine Flu. Parents were emailed today... not sure which staff member has been dx but we've had a few kids off sick of late. Ya know, it was prolly a good time for me to be having surgery - I wouldn't be able to work with a confirmed dx at school... so reasons for everything, timings... not sure, mebbe - but fingers crossed for my unknown-as-yet colleague that she will get better soon.

Oh Izzie...I don't know how you stay awake with all that stuff...I just drift in and out of consciousness...love those warm fuzzies. Rest well.

I do not work at school tomorrow. YAY! They were crazy today. Fall Festival was crazy. But one very amazing thing happened that I think is absolutely wonderful. I have a little Japanese boy - K. He is a doll. The first two days in my music class he cried and cried. I could not figure it out. But by the third day - he was all smiles and happy to do what we were doing. I was picking up J and S today after school and I saw K and his Mom...I went over and did hand motions..and lots of nodding and smiling. They do not speak a lick of English yet. When J and S came out they were walking with their Japanese friend Siu. Come to find out Siu and K are brothers. Siu can speak English and translated for me. Such a small world. We were all very excited that we had yet another connection. I love things like that.

I am going to finish getting the kitchen put away and go try to worry through some of my newest book.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... on a level of 1 - 10... I'm around 1.0 in the pain department... maybe pushing 1.5 - that's nothing really ... had some more med surges over nite, a visit every hour on the hour from a sweet young nurse who could not believe i spoke to her everytime she popped her head in - ha - she didn't know how I could remain awake either with the surges. I dozed a little thru the nite but will sleep this avo prolly.

amazing! so little pain.

seeing the physio early and hoping to get back home soonish- got my lovely bright blue crutches and won't weight bearing - but, really, this has been the easiest by far. Will probably smart a little when my foot "comes down" - this minute tho - it's a GOOD morning.


Thinking of Boida... sending her posivibes that she will be pain free and de-lumped.

Hey Bosun - I'm a listening and can hear and feel all the posivibes - they are definitely what made the difference - I know it for sure. I'm gonna enjoy my few days quiet time before going back to work (couple, maybe 2.5 weeks depending on driving). Not sure when I can weight bear - but... I'm getting up in a few mins and going to see what it feels like to lower my foot for more than a few mins.

Ah... home and back in my comfort zone, very, very physically shaky right now - wiped out completely so going to sleep for a bit. The journey back seemd like an eternity... i think I may sleep for a few hours - trying to keep my eyes open and they just won't stay open at all.

Head wise - real good, toots good, no feeling at all - ankle (well, had a peek at it - bit naughty) - big cut no wonder 'tis so painful, had no idea it would be like that - right over bone - verra disgusting nasty. Cannot weight bear at all and have to keep feet up. Phyiso said... 6 weeks... she can't be right there... I'm sure the surgeon said only a couple, 3 at most. Hmmmm.

ok..... so can't focus - have the kitties for company up here with me and the dawgs are downstairs snoozing.

laterz crew - so very tired (have nodded off a few times just writing this ) and wibbly wobbly - definitely a weeble, but I won't fall down
