Greetings dear sweet Yabber crew:
I should have listened to Missy when she warned me that promotion prospects for a Light House keeper were somewhat limited…If only I had seen the light earlier!
Well, I have successfully negotiated my way round the Staten Island Visitors Information Point (V.I.P.); although there are some chairs, I don’t think you could call it a lounge.
People say I'm the life of the party
because I tell a joke or two
although I might be laughing loud and hearty
Deep inside I'm blue…
So take a good look at my face
You'll see my smile looks out of place
If you look closer, it's easy to trace
The tracks of my tears..
I need you, need you…
Oh Dutchy how I need you to get me a ticket to see the game, are you and Tryst gonna be there?
If so; tell him I poked his sister!!!
Yeah, I’m sorry about that " the end of the umbrella hit her leg…She smiled…It was the kinda smile that said, ‘If I see you around town, I’m going to run you down.’ " Nice legs though!
Anyhoo, I think my quest to find a ‘postpositional adjective’ may have reached a successful conclusion with:
Emeritus (plural Emeriti) is an adjective that is used in the title of a retired professor, bishop, or other professional. Emerita (/ɨˈmɛrɨtə/) is often used as the female equivalent, although avoided by purists, since phrases such as professor emerita are ungrammatical in Latin.
The term is used when a person of importance in a given profession retires, so that his former rank can still be used in his title. This is particularly useful when establishing the authority of a person who might comment, lecture or write on a particular subject.
The word is typically used as a postpositional adjective but can also be used as a preposition adjective. It is frequently capitalized when it forms part of a title. " You learn something new every day!
The word originated incidentally in the mid-18th century from Latin as the past participle of emereri meaning to "earn one's discharge by service". Emereri itself is a compound of the prefix e- (a variant of ex-) meaning "out of or from" and mer?"re meaning "earn".
Only in A2K can such information be found!
It has also been noted that dear Missy will smooch anyone who is sick…
Well, coming up the gangway, I am sure I chipped a nail; and I feel sick about it…Pucker up sweetie for a big wet one!
Happy to see the little one is back to good health and you are in your element with your music.
Miss Izzie, I hope you will understand if I take a rain check on your most gracious offer of further smooches, seeing as how you have just smooched Tryst " I feel as if I should wait until you have had a health check. He is one dirty devil.
Talking about the devil; I hear what you say about the evils of drink Dutchy, but let me put a different perspective on the matter:
A Case for More Beer -
A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo, and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular culling of the weakest members.
In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills off brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first.
In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, constantly making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.
In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, constantly making the brain a faster and more efficient machine
That's a relief - because my pizza and beer is a manditory Friday night thing. And since it seems at times I didn't start out with that many brain cells....
Hi all! Insomnia queen here! OI. Wish I had thought to get on and yabber!
Have a good one, dj! I'm sure the fort will be held down!
Not much to report here, just busy busy now with school and all! First day went well for Thing1. Thing2 seems to be ever the pessimist! Help me! He's moved on up to the middle school and things are a bit different. He's not one who's much for change. But this too shall pass.
hiya Dev....Middle School was bad. I hope it is better for Thing 2. Change is hard. I don't like it either. Not sleeping still? I wish I knew how to fix it. I have trouble myself...a really boring book will do the trick many times...though the boring one I picked up last night didn't work so well. I am SO sleepy right now.

Hiya Queen Dev, nice to know all is well, give me a buzz on the word games, dying for as bit of action.
Last but not least Izzie, looks like you've settled down again Captain, your posts are brilliant and a pleasure to read, nobody does it as well and with so much heart in it as you. You're the best.
