@alex240101,
School’s Out.
What a very busy and emotional day.
This is my school a few days back.
With the local moggy visiting.
Last day of term. This morning I took my nine Year 6’s and had a little bit of cool time in the office. Stepladder, paints and smiling faces. Water everywhere, giggles in between. They "walked my walls" and reached to the sky. Have rainbow footprints and celiling handprints. They loved it. My way of remembering the kids as they move on and them making their mark on the school.
Leavers Service this afternoon was simply amazing. Awards, plays, 4 year olds who had painted the faces of the 11 year olds and told memories about them " songs, “Oliver” " “our” school style " lotsa parents with tears in their eyes as their little kids leave Primary School " a DVD of all the leavers spanning their life at school on the projector " they grow up so quick. The finale... Year 6’s left the old village church to find a very old Fire Engine outside " the kids climbed aboard, set the siren blaring and went off through all the little country roads with the verra nice firefighter. Fabulous. Great way to end their school days as being little kids.
Sis " so sorry you are sick

" that always happens with you " it’s the shutdown from work " NASTY!!!!!! We had our first SFlu case " a teacher who hasn’t been back into school this week. Lots of us have sorethroats and headaches " but we're just run down, not sick " it get’s like that towards the end of term with so much going on. We received a County email directive this morning which says...

Subject: INFO: Swine Flu Vaccination Programme
H1N1 Swine Flu Vaccination Programme
As you will be aware there will be a new Swine Flu Vaccine available shortly and Devon PCT, in association with our partners, is planning to offer this vaccine to the whole population over the next few months.
Depending on the availability of the vaccine, which we expect to start arriving late August, there will be a phased implementation programme. Vulnerable groups such as individuals with existing health conditions and health and social care workers directly involved in patient care will be prioritised.
Children aged 3-16 years of age have been identified as a priority group so we wish to arrange to deliver the vaccine through a school programme when the term restarts in September. It is our intention to offer the vaccine to school staff at the same time.
We will be working during the next 6 weeks to formulate a delivery plan.
The vaccine requires 2 doses three weeks apart. We realise that this will impact on schools but hope that you will see the benefit of accessing large numbers of the population.
We will keep you informed of developments as soon as we can.
If you have any further questions please contact:
Head of Health Protection
Devon Primary Care Trust
My teachers are saying they will
not have this vaccine as it hasn’t been tested etc...... not sure what to do really " guess I will play it by ear and see what happens. I’m immune-compromised as it is... so just really not sure what to do about it. Think about it come September I suppose.
