@Izzie,
Good Morning Crew

oh my - I did drop off the planet last nite.... 2 rolo packets and a jaffa cake wrapper. tut tut tut... that's so not good! Sugar cravings late at nite. I need more sleep.

Anyhooooo - didn't achieve as much as I needed to do yesterday - mmmm - few probs - but did clear out FQ's room for the folks coming to stay - first time since I moved here that it actually looks like a bedroom - happy days! (all the stuff is now in R-boys unused room!)

Loft insulated - I should be warmer this winter - very good. Thanku little men in white suits and boots for not carting me off in the van.

Did the garden - haircut and short back and sides. Beautiful garden. More to do.

Made the phonecalls needing to made. Done and sorted.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....got an email from R-boy's carers about him going on holiday with my P-friends family - which she didn't tell me about, only spoke to her a couple days ago - I'm a little thrown on that one! No, more than a little thrown. May or may not be the case. Nem'mind. R-boys review today - not allowed to attend. I'm here only to provide info for his passport it seems. I gave birth. That's it. <swallows bitter pill>. Hey ho.

So, gorgeous hot day here and the house is about to be hoovered and cleaned (domestic goddess I 'aint) so............

hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go... <errrrrrrrrrrr anyone seen 7 little helpers hanging around... > Razz

@Izzie,
Morning Izzie, congratulations I feel you've done a lot of work, anyway you have a bit more time tonight before you motor of to the big smoke and the concert. Watching Wimbledon tennis it looks like you're having nice sunny warm weather, hope it stays that way for your weekend away.

Seeing that everybody is posting pictures I'd thought I join you and post one myself. I made it this morning whilst on my daily walk, it is quite an interesting one with a lot of history behind it.

By way of introduction, the Aboriginal people occupied this Country for over 40.000 years before white men arrived here. Behind my house, in the middle of suburbia, is a beautiful tract of land with a meandering stream and many stately gum trees, hundreds of years old. It is a very tranquil area once occupied by members of the Kaurna tribe, whose legacy is still visible on close inspection of the terrain.

I have found stone axes, stone spear points and stone cutting implements over the years. Nowadays the area is "sacred" ground to the Aboriginal community who hold spritual meetings there from time to time. Anyway my photograph shows what is known as a "Scar" tree to the Aboriginal people, because as you can see, one of their ancestors long ago cut out a weapon, in the form of a defensive shield, from the bark of the gum tree.

Hey BEAgle...

WIMBLEDON - HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT WAS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGAWD!

anyhoo...

the first thing I thought of when I saw your pic was this...

http://www.uh.edu/~cnathen/Klimt_the_kiss_1907_8.gif

"The Kiss". Strange what an image conjures up in your mind.

Love that tree! Thanku hun for pic and the info. Very Happy

Well, I just had a very polite young man at the door selling his wares. Ex-young offender turning his life around and upfront about his difficulties and mistakes of the past. Bless him. Good job it was cleaning day - young man went away selling me lots of cleaning products - one can always do with an extra or six pet hair removers! Rolling Eyes and a thing that looks like the top of a muppets head (who knows what it's for!). Good luck to that young man - wishing him a more positive step forward in his world.

OK... back to work so I can feel Happy later. (yeah yeah yeah... the other 6 will get praised too if they help out a bit more! Wink Dopey is being a little slack right now!)

laterzzzzzzzz

@Izzie,
“The Life and Mundane Times of Mz. Iza Mop”

Thatsme!

Cleaning mode.

How heavy does a hoover get? TOO DARN HEAVY. I need a quick whizzy thing that does the job without feeling as tho I am pushing around a tank. Oh man, give me wooden floors and a big brush any day " yuk carpets. YUK! Ah... well, I could also use my broomstick on wooden floors. Bonus edition in that I could fly off when it suited me.

OK... I’ve sat for 10 mins " need to get back to doing. People arriving shortly to pick up the keys..... sheesh.... the house is looks like it’s relatively tidy - tho " it’s still a little too “lived in” " need to throw some stuff in the lion, the witch and the BIG wardrobe without it all falling out when it’s opened. Nasty... too much tut. Need to do something about that.

Cobwebs - lots of - in the conservatory - ugh - need to something about that! Shocked

Off again now................ oooooooooooooooooh " wonders will never cease - found my ipod " how happy is that " it’s been missing since Kansas trip last year.... too cool! I will have more than Lee Mead and Leona to play in the car. Uber cool.

Back later.
x

<if anyone has some spare hands, I could do with a couple, mine need replacing rather badly> !

@annis,
Morning Izzie and Tulip, glad to see you eager beavers so active, seems to b e catching after mismi started the ball rolling. Spring or is it summer is in the air. Cold, rainy and miserable here this morning so the Beagle is staying indoors pursuing his mental hobbies, solving my crosswords. Be back later.

Good morning everyone,
It has been an interesting few days here.
We had the visitation for the victims of Saturday mornings fatal housefire on wednesday night, and the funeral was yesterday.
After the funeral, at 8 last night, a prayer service was held at the house.

At the funeral, those of us on the fire dept got paid for our work.
Remember we are all volunteers.
We had a person at the funeral ask us why we do it, since we dont get paid for it.
Just as he asked the question, Austin walked in.
He is the little boy that we pulled out of the fire and lifeflighted to a Louisville hospital.
His arms are wrapped in bandages, and he has a small cut on his forehead, but other then that he is OK.
I simply pointed to Austin and said "we just got paid".
Seeing that little boy walk in, after we werent even sure we had saved him, is all the payment we need.

The local Fox news affiliate was at the prayer service at the house last night, and they have been covering the story since the fire, they reported from the fire that morning.

http://tristatehomepage.com/content/westernkynews
Click on the watch icon under "electrical cause for Union County fire".
There are also some other videos that can link from that one, about the father dying a hero, and about 100+ people.

This county has lost 2 young children in the last week, and I am hoping that there wont be any more for a while.

Anyway, thats the news from here for now.
