- We are home from the beach....it was another gorgeous hot day---the boys had a wonderful time with their cousin...we are going out in the boat tomorrow. Looking forward to it...I am having a wonderful time - but I am starting to miss the Prof.
I am tired...running after 5 kids on the beach is exhausting - Momma and Daddy (Grandmother and Papa) are really pooped! But it is so good...

Well folks - what in the world!!!!! 4am... I tell ya....4am. I dropped down exhausted at midnite and half expected to sleep for England I was so tired. Nope ... not gonna happen.... 4am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Something woke me up - some thought racing around - or someone calling my name! That was it - wide awake and the dawn was already beginning to break. Couldn't manage to actually get out of bed - just lay there - eyes wide open - listening to another symphony outside my bedroom window - truly extraordinary the sounds produced - strange how I find the night leading into the morning the most wonderful part of the day. Don't wanna miss a thing.
Anyhoooooooooooo - will be well tired today - but right now - it's beautiful outside, hard frost, brilliant sunshine and the days a'startin - off for a toddle to the river - ha - nothing like going for a stroll in yer dressing gown! Woo hoo!
Thinking of Babbling and db - heal heal heal.... quick check around and off for a wander with a cuppa.
Mis - so glad you are having a great time - I didn't realise Prof wasn't with you - I bet you do miss him - you guys "go together to like ramalamadingdong". Love to MaMa and PaPa Dixie from across the pond.

Pass a jaffa cake, would you please Izzie? I'm just now relaxing with a big mug of tea. (Stomach still grumbly but I think I can manage one little biscuit.) Spent the morning canning (jarring?) some marmalade -- finally! The canned Seville oranges have been reproaching me for a couple of years. (Never canned in my life, but the lids "popped" so hopefully I won't kill anyone.)
Really enjoying your photos. It's still pretty dreary here with small humps of filthy snow still not melted. Saw a robin this morning though and the mourning doves have returned so things are looking up.
