@Izzie,
Morning crew, best news for a long time, cool change hit us overnight and glorious rain is forecast for next Monday and Tuesday. Also the floodwaters from Queensland have started to fill our Lake Eyre, an enormous inland sea in the north of our State. To give you an idea of its size, it is as big as Germany, France and Italy combined and has only filled 3 times during the past 150 years. Despite its remoteness it will draw thousands of tourists in the coming months to witness a natural phenomena which will bring wild life, birds and fish to this arid area for a while until the water evaporates and the area once again becomes the driest and hottest place on this planet.

Just had to tell you this as they showed the water entering the lake on television this morning with thousands of birds following the water, an incredible sight.

Great to have you back fully plastered Izzie, and thanks for letting us know about Tulip's progress, as you say a big change but hopefully a happy one for her and the children.

Hi to our wandering minstrel 'tryagain', whose wisdom knows no bounds and writes the most beautiful lyrics from a fertile mind, mismy will be most impressed mate.

Getting ready to visit a most attractive Country pub for lunch with some friends, so won't be around until much later in the day.

Wishing you all a great weekend.

@verbivore,
Hey verbivore,
thanks for reply. I would probably agree with you, except my daughter is in her early 30's and no 'kid'. She's always been a challenge for me & I have no fond memories of the teen years. We are worlds apart and even further now. To do what she is doing to me is completely unwarranted and unforgiveable. I have to love her but I don't like her, much at all......Sad Makes it worse she's my only child. Too many disappointments. Oh well.

What happened to Izzie? What is this about plaster? I read the threads but couldn't find anything!

Bathy

Fortunately baseball season hasn't started - I have to say that I find this the most pointless of all games - steroid bloaters play 162 games of rounder’s and each team wins and losses almost exactly half their games. As if that unending succession of individually meaningless games wasn't enough to bore everyone rigid it's only a prelude to a long, drawn-out playoff process, culminating in the so-called World Series, where one American team plays another American team. Although each team is mostly made up of players from the Dominican Republic.

@mismi,
Hi, all. A bit under the weather just now. Got a lovely hacking cold & a whopping head-ache. Guess I jinxed myself by saying I hadn't had a cold all winter out loud. Evil or Very Mad
Oh, mis-, right now I don't envy you a boys night in. Keep those bottles handy! Is it getting warm by you yet? It's at least above freezing here. yippee.
Hope the rest of y'all are well. I'm just plum tuckered out. But I do think of you all often. Very Happy

@devriesj,
It's Cr-azy weather here Dev. It was 60 degrees today - we have a cold front moving through and we are expecting to have snow Sunday - just flurries of course...and no sticking and it will happen at night - which means that we won't miss school Monday which stinks...but it is gradually getting to be more warm than it is cold. This is a happy thing. The bottle is close...believe me! ((DEV)) Get some rest hun. Think of you often as well...you know, you really do kind of look like Elastagirl...of course, I just had a shot of whiskey - so - I could be wrong. Wink (I am totally in control of my facilities though...I mean faculties - don't worry).

@Izzie,
HAAAAAAAAY!~ there she is. I am watching 6 of the 9 in here right now...they are playing Clone Wars on Wii. I think the other three just went downstairs to have a war with their fly launchers. I'm not kidding...they have little guns that launch these little plastic flies about 15 feet. They all have those glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces - I turned off the lights earlier and they were running around the garage with flashlights screaming like little girls...cracking me up. Quite entertaining it is. Yoda speak...I lapse every once in a while.

Oh, I'm so glad I checked back here! I was just on the game threads & about to check out of a2k!
So laughing about the boys. They crack me up too. Doesn't matter what they're into or what they're playing. So very funny they are. Wink
Hey, where's the prof. in all of that nonsense or is he just one of the "screaming girls"?!
Oof, gotta go take some cold drugs & wait for them to take affect! Blagh! Rolling Eyes

@devriesj,
Sorry Dev - you have a cold? Take care of yourself! The Prof disappeared...I do believe he found some kind of sports upstairs in our room and conveniently shut the door... Rolling Eyes He was down here for the really crazy time though...when they were chasing each other round and round and round the house. That was fun. That was when I decided the wine might not be enough. He made me stop trying to make them quit burping around the table, He told me that that's what boys do. Well...I know thaaat. So - I backed up...lord the testosterone around here - good grief

I soooo know what you're talking about - testosterone and estrogen, too much of either is not a good thing!
Oh! My hubby will retreat to his "man cave" when the going gets tough too! Oy!
Sometimes if ya cain't beat 'em, join em - or at least tolerate 'em! Don't worry they'll quiet down, hopefully before midnight!!
