Ship's Log

Oh crew - it is such a pleasure to be here with you all. Sensational Saturday is on it's way for our UK & US crew. Happy Saturday to our Aussies already. Smile

Today we have discussed moles and solutions, snakes and solutions, bad shoulders and solutions, wickedness and solutions. Rolling Eyes

I am hoping that Alex24something will lend us his blue and white flying rug for our Arabian party - unless a strategically placed coffee table is covering up the newly designed white stain. In which case, ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh - keep the coffee table there and vacuum around hunni!)

The BabiesTry are happy with their new rattle tho the Bear is perturbed at the use of his "fodder" for snakes. There is a family row ensuing - but if the children argue - then one is on the Port, one is on the Starboard and one is in the Nest. (The best behaved triplet will be on the Port!)

"Spendi" came onboard again and tho believing I was cleaning the "heads" whilst I was talking - I was pleased to see him back and hope he continues to join us on our journey, knowing that all intention on this ship is well-meaning intention.

Now onto the important issues:

Our beautiful Arabian Princesses:

Stormy-Arabian-Snowchick is still snowy but has finished her week at work with the children who are very special and TTHun-Arabian-Racerchick is still struggling with her shoulder but has received, and givenÂ…. TLC by and to the BlueBoy - so she will be feeling ticketyboo soon.

Mismi-Arabian-Dixiechick and Indeedee-Arabian-BearWrestlerchick are both in cars, travelling big, long journeys. So, wishing them safety and comfort and arrival at their destinations sooner, rather than later, cool as cucumbers and looking forward to their weekends. Rest well lovelies.

So crew - I'm putting in an early Log tonite - however, as you know, the "insomniac watch" is all mine if you wanna come up on deck Smile

All crew who have been on shore leave - hope life is faring well for you and we hope to see you soon.

Wishing y'all a great weekend - and everyone .... take good care always.

Crew - you are the best - thanku Very Happy

Checking in. Thank you, all, for your suggestions....., and commentaries.
Try-you made me crack up on that rattlesnake pun.
stormwatch-the moles sometimes have a field day on the roots in my garden, and flower beds. Sometimes they make their runs along paved walkways, and cover the area with dirt. One day I'll share with you the snapping turtle dilemma I have.
Izzie-I like your wild weed pictures. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. During dandelion season, I skip a few weeks of lawn cutting just to see a sea of bright yellow flowers. I think my neighbors dislike that. I have many patches of wild weeds. Queens ann lace(a member of the carrot family), chickory, golden rod, and many more pop up in Michigan. Last year I had a twelve foot lambs ear.

You shouldn't dig too much nitrogen rich mulch into your veggie garden Izzie.

Hey Alex

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

I couldn't agree more. Funny, I said that to someone the other day.

I think you would love the woods near here - Lydford Woods and Lydford Gorge. In the spring, as you walk down the gorge - it is a sea of bluebells - in my eyes - it is a sight to behold.

Would love to see your pics if you have some to post. Photography is one of my many loves - and I get a great deal of pleasure seeing the world through others eyes.

Hope you have a lovely weekend Alex. Smile

Izzie. I'm new to technology, but when I have time, will learn the digital camera thing. I have a swail(creek) that runs along and through my property. I have wetlands and woods in back. The wildlife I get is truly amazing. Yesterday, when that Northern Flicker woodpecker popped in and started munching on the poison sumac buds, I was kicking myself for not having one of those super zoom lenses. I'm looking forward to sharing my pictures with you, and all the wonderful people here.

Just checking, all seems to be smooth sailing except for try, appears to have fallen out of his bed for unknown reasons, may have to put him up in a foredeck cabin which will be easier for his back which is obviously prone to the more sternly laid out bunks. Could have sworn I just saw the ghost of the Captain watching me, or was I seeing things? Laughing

This must be the fastest-moving thread on the board.

Anything worth reading so far?

We're just a crew to give Izzie some well deserved support whilst she is experiencing a difficult time presently McTag. We all love this effervescent and courageous lady who has captured our hearts whilst coping with some of life's worst obstacles. She'll be very pleased to note that you paid her a visit on this thread. Even your sparing partner spendious has done us the honour with a visit, proving he has a heart after all. Laughing

An easy segue from "some of life's worst obstacles" to "Spendius", is it not.

Smile

Good morning all, time for a cuppa, which (first cup of tea in the morning) my old soldier father referred to as "gunfire".

McTag enjoy that 'gunfire' whilst I enjoy a fine Australian cold beer with the temperature still hovering around the 40 degree mark.

I never do take 'spendi's' ravings seriously when he posts after having been to the local for the evening and had a few snorts of that John Smith's Yorkshire Bitter. A classical example of his worthless paroxysmally penmanship is displayed in todays British thread. Laughing

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone. After a very busy night last night I'm ready for some R&R and smooth sailing. I'm heading to the galley for a large cup of coffee.

Captain Izzie how are you doing today?

Good Morning Stormy and....... more NEW CREW - VBV is here too (don't worry about the pics not showing - we can get that sorted, no problem, next time you are online girlie - just very pleased you could make it here). Smile

Well, had a very late nite last nite (darn insomnia and spinning head hamsters) and then had a 6.45am wake up call. IT WAS SO HAPPY and so worth being woken up for - my fabulous neice called me from Houston, TX - and - we yabbered for 2 hours - it was great.

I stayed up for a few hours after that, but - having only had an hour and a half sleep - my berth was beckoning - so slept a couple more which was good (not enough, but good).

So, back on the deck now - nice to see new crew coming aboard and hoping they will jump aboard as we pass their port.

Stormy - how was family nite - did you have a lovely time? Smile

Alex24.... - have pics to post (on a roll with my bugs and flowers things now so when you next appear here I will post them so you can see them if your interested hunni) Smile

Hey Izzie Very Happy

Family night was fun. It's actually Literacy night...all activities are connected to literacy and learning, our school does it once a year. It's a lot of work but so worth it. We get lots of families to come and have dinner and learn with their children. I was smart this year, I always volunteer to do kitchen duty, but this year I did activities in the gym. That was SO much more fun. I have to admit I work at an excellent school with wonderful educators. That's why I get so upset about our new superintendent pulling the rug out from under us. Oh well.....

Glad to hear you had a happy phone call Very Happy Make sure you get plenty of rest, you will heal quicker.

Hey Stormy

We only have 46 kids in our school but we involve the parents in everything we do, if possible. Some parents attend EVERYTHING and some - we never see. I'm not sure if I told you about the vision the Head and I have for our kidlets this summer - with the willow cover and firepit.......?

Won't bore you with it again just in case you have read it somewhere else, but if you're interested, we have kinda a different approach to learning in our school - yep, we have to do the maths, english, science bit Rolling Eyes (I'm not a teacher so I can do the roll-eyes thing) - but as we are in the country - well, we're kinda expanding out into the fields... Shocked

(Tuesday is the day a? Glad your safe - but nonetheless - still a pain!)
