@McTag,
Thanks, Izzy!

In return (and for all), a detail of the Christmas pyramid at the Dresden Christmas market ...

@Walter Hinteler,
Interesting pictures Walter, I remember the Christmas market in Aachen during my last visit to Europe, it was quite extensive.

Good afternoon Izzie. Good evening Dutchy (Oh wait, I hear snoring from below the deck) . Good morning Mismi.
Morning here. Foggy morning. Not outside. Am I the only one who has pillows that just won't stay in their cases.
Izzie. I could not find a Christmas bulb that would suit you.
Mismi. Are you celebrating Solstice on the reservation? Thank you for missletoe greets. Never saw it coming.
djjd62. Do you ski, snowmobile, cross country...?
Walter Hinteler. That is a beautiful Nativity scene. What church is that in Dresden, Germany?
ehBeth. "snowmageddon" That is funny. I should not be laughing, we have a bunch more on the way. How much does Santa need?
My thoughts go out to Stormwatch, devriesj, whiteviolet, Justbrooke.
Hello verbivore, deedeex,tryagain,wandeljw, annis.
Have nice days everybody.

@alex240101,
used to cross country ski, sold the skis maybe 12 years ago, the snow in these parts was not like the good old days and i had no time to travel, the last few years the snow has been here, i've thought about getting another set of skis

@djjd62,
Like you, it has been a few years since I flew down a hill. I'm going to Indianhead(Upper Pennisula) in January. I am excited.

@djjd62,
Wanna come check out my garage?

When I bought this house, there were several sets of x-country skis in the 'rafters' of the old garage. Some downhill skis as well. I think the x-country skis were pretty decent, though not as easy to prepare as the newer generations of skis.

I've still got my good x-country skis in the house, though I haven't had them out in years. This would be a good season to take 'em back out for a slip and slide.

@alex240101,
The U.P? Love the U.P.

I still recall an amazing Yooper breakfast that Set ordered when we were in Manistique. I stayed back at the hotel with the dogs - asked him to bring me back an egg and toast or something similar. There was enough left-over of his Yooper breakfast that I had breakfast, then all four of us had a picnic lunch from it.

The U.P's so lovely. It's someplace I really want to get back to.

@ehBeth,
We make it to the Upper Pennisula seven or eight times a year. I've spent time in Manistique.
Speaking of breakfasts ehBeth, I still am drooling over the pancetta, cheese potato, egg, onion skillet creation you posted on the dinner tonight thread.

@alex240101,
That was a funny day - I think all three meals were breakfast. Oatmeal, then cheese toast with clementines, then the breakfast skillet.

@whiteviolet,
WhiteVy, lovely to see you here, even if it's only briefly.

I'm watching/listening to a Rankin Family Christmas special on the teeeeveeee right now. Love them. They're from the Cape Breton area of Canada. A wonderfully musical community there.

this is the wonderful Raylene Rankin performing Ave Maria
