@annis,
What was that Annis, are you calling for a hunky man? Mrs.B calls me a hunk, sure she'll give me the day off to help a lady in distress Laughing
Hope your friend the Captain is feeling a lot better by now and the news about the big boy was positive.
The Beagle is heading into the City today and won't be around much, playing guide to my nephew and taking him and Mrs.B out to lunch.
Hugs to all the ladies and paws to the men folk.

@FlavourQueen,
Hello there FQ, so nice to see you, Happy Birthday to your little one. Little Birthday party organised? You must be the busiest of all the ladies here, good of you to drop by and keeping us informed how you are. (((FlavourQueen)))

@Dutchy,
She is back at Boarding school, but we had a weekend of meals out and presents and she had a good time.
Life is busy - was over in Northern Ireland last week and went to the James Bond premier of Quantum of Solace in Belfast - it was so weird going to the cinema in evening dress and on the red carpet.
I am around this week and then off to Belgium and Germany next week, so will be pretty manic.
Will be happy to stop at Xmas and get down to spend the new year with the Captain I hope - our usual madness!
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine Dutchy as the weather is absolutely terrible here and we need you to send some over.
Dev - I posted on another thread to you - big hugs hun
Hope you have a great day down under and wherever you are

@FlavourQueen,
Your heart is in the right place FlavourQueen, how lucky is Izzie to have you as a friend, hope you can make it and see her over the New Year. Our weather is nice, a comfortable 30 degrees today, but we could do with some of your rain, things drying out fast down here. Hills have turned from green to a deep yellow. Reading your itinerary, you do get around, don't you. Have a safe trip.

Crazy day. Went and signed a contract to start a new job next Monday. It'll be a longer, more annoying commute but it should be worth it overall. Best of all, the new company wanted to be sure they paid me more than the old company - even if it was just a bit. ha, I say, ha!

@Izzie,
(how does the cap'n do it? I tried doing one of those all in one posts - cuz they're brilliant - had 8 windows open to catch all the crew and crew activities - closed the wrong window on completing my response - wanted to weep)

Hello Izzie. Hello crew. Monday.
Still two rooms. The wife put the kabosh on my schedule. Ribs weren't healing. (sure bought her time to work me over on color selection)
Tomorrow is our special day. Ivory. Taking her to the spa, our dinner place, cocktails and live music. Then, home to watch our wedding video....again.
How are you Izzie? Thank you for the whiteviolet update.

@alex240101,
Good for your wife Alex...apparently you weren't going to take care of you - so she had to...that's good. Happy Anniversary...enjoy (having to watch the wedding video - again - sounds just like the Prof.)

Beth - Izzie is an amazingly thoughtful person....she has an innate ability it seems to remember and take care of her crew...dear, dear girl she is! My best efforts fall short of her thoughtfulness!

Today was good. Well it was fair to middlin' - lots of crying babies...but still - it's hard to believe I get paid to play and take care of these cutey petooties - so yes, I'm good...the house - well - it looks like it's been hit by a tornado. So I am having to crack down on the youngun's and make them pick up behind themselves. Fortunately - they are home tomorrow - I can make them get to work for a little while before I let them go out to play.

Hugs to you all...hope you have a good evening - and a good day to Dutchy and DeeDee,,,

@verbivore,
Happy anniversary to the alexes!
Here's hoping the MysteryMan had a grand birthday.

I'm off to the Royal Winter Fair tomorrow - it's one of the biggest farm fairs still on the go in North America. My best friend of the past 35 years is coming up from her farm - we're going to giggle and look at pigs and cows and horses and ducks and llamas and eat silly things and then go off to the posh horse show at night. So much fun.

@mismi,
Hi crew, forgot to mention this morning, that today is remembrance day down under when we honour our fallen soldiers.

I watched the ceremony this morning with mixed emotions. Great sadness and also anger that the ruling elites in Europe would settle their differences by sacrificing 100,000,000 lives.

@Steve 41oo,
This Poem will touch your heart, a lone Piper played an accompanying tune, unfortunately I can't reproduce it here.

MAY THE SUN SHINE DOWN ON YOU ON REMEMBERANCE DAY

THE FINAL INSPECTION

The soldier stood and faced God,

Which must always come to pass.

He hoped his shoes were shining,

Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you soldier,

How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek?

To My Church have you been true?"

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,

"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.

Because those of us who carry guns,

Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,

And at times my talk was tough.

And sometimes I've been violent,

Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,

That wasn't mine to keep...

Though I worked a lot of overtime,

When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,

Though at times I shook with fear.

And sometimes, God, forgive me,

I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,

Among the people here.

They never wanted me around,

Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,

It needn't be so grand.

I never expected or had too much,

But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,

Where the saints had often trod.

As the soldier waited quietly,

For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, you soldier,

You've borne your burdens well.

Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets;

You've done your time in Hell."
