I spent the day dorm-room shopping with K. She moves in on Saturday, which we're all beginning to realize is coming up very, very quickly. Ups and downs on the emotional scale here too.
I haven't done much work today. Time to get to it.

Good morning all - yes as Dutchy says another beautiful day here. Busy weekend for us too here as going to a wedding a few hours drive away so will stay the night. Not so good news about geese - two lost now to foxes whilst they were nest sitting. Don't know what to do about the eggs???

Hello Guys and Dolls!
We were going to go down to Mobile, AL this weekend...but may wait for another weekend. G-baby has picked up a bug. Figured it would happen soon since he has never been in a great big ol' school before full of germs...Needs to build up those immunities...feel sorry for him though. Pretty pitiful right now. That and Gustav might be giving us some bad driving conditions coming back home...we haven't made a decision yet.
I put up a new shower curtain today. I had to get a level and a drill and my screw driver. I measured and drilled and managed to mis-measure...(insert curse word here) I had to pull all those dadgum molly bolts out and lower it and redo the whole dadgum thing...so now - I have to patch and sand and repaint where I scewed up (literally) the wall. sheesh. But It is looking better...I have to go buy a new light fixture now. Once I get that done...the boys bathroom will finally be presentable.
I am going to go sit with my baby for a bit before I carry him to bed...

One might imagine that the term derives from the understandable temptation among more productive citizens to "snap a whip" at such sullen layabouts, but the whips in question actually belonged to the whippersnappers themselves. Such ne'er-do-wells were originally known as "whip snappers" in the 17th century, after their habit of standing around on street corners all day, idly snapping whips to pass the time. The term was been based on the already-existing phrase, "snipper-snapper," also "whip snapper" which became "whippersnapper" fairly rapidly.
Though "whippersnapper" originally referred to a young man with no visible ambition, the term has changed somewhat over the years, and today is more likely to be applied to a youngster with an excess of both zeal and charm.
