STORMY - where've ya been girl - ship's been missing our Stormwatch - had to rely on the BlueDevil in the Crows Nest - he's always playing tricks - you know - "aaaaaaaaaaagh - come about - oil rig in way" "aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh - starboard please - moby dick surfacing", aaaaaaaaaaaagghhh - TOO LATE! He's such a devil!

Good to see you girl. Think you may be off work - is it this week? Roll on March 11 and hopefully find out what's happening a?

Glad you made it aboard. Smile

We've missed you!

Sending you (((((((((((((warmth)))))))))))))))

(I'm doing coco thanku - just got a numb bum - too much lying around Sad )

I've been around, just don't get a lot of time to hang out on A2K, even when I'm on vacation. I try to get so much done I feel like I need to get back to work to get a break. Laughing Laughing

March 11th is the big day. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in fear of my job. I've been there for 23 years and always good reviews...I'm not going anywhere, but there are 6 positions being cut from my building, including the other special ed teacher, and one of our paras ( which means my caseload will double next year). It's a long story about how it all came about ......and very unfair Twisted Evil Also on March 11th will be the vote on teacher's contracts. I'm sure that will not pass, so will likely be working w/out contracts next year. People feel that teachers are over paid and under worked Crying or Very sad

Anyway, enough of my whining....I'm glad to hear you so chipper all the time. Not many people would be such good patients. I know you have a long road ahead, but keep up the good work...you'll be dancing before you know it. Then you can post pics of that! Cool

Good Morning!

Sounds stressful Stormy - sorry to hear about all the cutbacks. Hope you are enjoying your week though.

I have much to do today - but I don't want to get out because it is stormy - I hate driving in rainy weather...people forget how to drive and they scare me especially when I am driving with babies in the car.

We have geese Deedee...but they are wild Canadian Geese...should be seeing some goslings anytime now down at the lake. We walk down there to feed them sometimes. The males are a little mean though - chase us away! My boys are scared of them! Laughing

I slept good last night for the first time in days. And the professor seems to have gotten over his annoyance with me - which is a happy thing!

Izzie how are those tootsies this morning dear? Hope you are well...seem to be in good spirits - but then again when are you not? Take care of yourself sweety!

Try - you were up and about really early this morning...got a leak in the roof of your shanty? What do hillbillies do in the morning when the sun ain't up yet anyway?

Have a great day you all... I will be on and off depending on how well I keep my focus on the task at hand...I think I have adult ADD sometimes I have such a hard time staying on task!

See you all later!
Mis

Ha - 'aint that the truth girl... izzn't it strange..... k - here's Izzie on her soapbox now ... good teacher's can never be paid enough in my humble opinion, especially Special Ed ones (though obviously that is a little close to my heart). All children have to be educated (edumacated in my world!) - - I believe that's the law - and it can be the driving force behind how these little kids are going to head out along in their life journey and become, with a hope and small prayer, useful and worthy members of society, in whatever form that is. It's not about always about the child's "academic" ability - it has so much to do with the child's "emotional well being" - if a child is happy - the child will learn more - academically and pastorally. An "out-of-the-box" teacher can sometimes help a child to look at the world in a way that no other person can do. It can make such a difference to their life.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I don't place "all" teachers on a pedestal - but the folk who I know, who are in the "profession of teaching" are wholly there, in my opinion to make life a better world for the children they teach. I believe very much in paying a workforce what they are worth….. there's izzn't enough money in the world to pay anyone for the input that a "worthy" teacher can have in a child's life.

If teachers are unhappy - then a child cannot be taught to the best of that teacher's ability, therefore………

Oh, could ramble on about this subject - but won't bore the rest of the crew. Children are the future - they need "teachers" as well as their parents to show them the way into that future.

K - maybe simplistic to some…but then this thread is not the thread for a soapbox. Thatsme living in an ideal world....or in a Castle On A Cloud! Shocked

(The education system, in my world, has let my son down - I will try to find a peace with that at some stage. For the most part, the "teachers" who I know - need more than a pat on the back - they deserve a lot more than a derisory pay cheque at the end of the day).

K - really - back in my box now!

Oh sorry - walkabout...... long-term shore-leave in Izzie terms - Sad

In Aussie Terms: Walkabout is an Australian pidgin (or perhaps quasi-pidgin) term referring to the commonly-held belief that Australian Aborigines would "go walkabout" at the age of thirteen in the wilderness for six months as a rite of passage. In this practice they would trace the paths (the so-called songlines) that their people's ceremonial ancestors took and imitate, in a fashion, their heroic deeds.

Fortunately - walkabout in my Aussie terms is just heading out for a while with no date of return.

I'm glad all is k - if a little busy. You just holler from the jetty when you are around and we'll come right back around and pick you up. Take care TTHun Smile see you on the threads.............

oh oh oh - let us know about the poorly shoulder k! Smile

Now I know there's a lotta folk who already think I'm a pain in the a$$ - well, hey - not any more!!!!!!!!!!!!! (only been seated for a short while on this marvellous invention so, time will tell - but right this moment - no more a$$ kicking just kiss my a… toes!)

(I know, I know .... doesn't take much to keep me happy - does it? Little things please little minds and all that! Rolling Eyes )

Had a little reality check today when all the papers came through from the solicitors about the sale of my lovely house. Did the only thing to do - opened the envelope - quick glance - put on side - wheeled away. Result. Deal with that some other time! Confused

Now - turning up the music and ready to settle on in for the evening…..

Hope today has not been a trying day for anyone - if you've tried hard all day - then you've done the best you can. That's all anyone could ask a? Smile

Missmi started her day, "Try - you were up and about really early this morning...got a leak in the roof of your shanty? What do hillbillies do in the morning when the sun ain't up yet anyway?"

Hey, hold your horses Missmi. Them good ol' boy Hillbilly boys haz an intellect rivaled only by garden tools.

Them of us who live higher up the mountain know stuff like; the difference between "right near" and "a right far piece." We also know that "just down the road yonder" can be 1 mile or 20.

Ps. It is obvious you know nothing about moving Moonshine while the revenuers iz asleep!

Pps.. Lzzie, good to see your asspect has improved! Laughing

Good morning all,

I see some grey clouds ahead - looks promising for rain.
TTH hope good news from docs. xx
Try re your question about the plane building - no they do not fly but are built to the right size. We have planes circling overhead looking for the landing strip. He has built about eight or nine - bi-winged and a duplicate of Miss LosAngeles. He is slowing down a bit now but it is his passion. Will send some pics little later.
Missy - yeah the male geese are a little scary but they are soooo cute helping to babysit the baby ducks and do a good job of keeping the foxes away. Glad to hear poppets all good again.
Izzie loved the sun lounges and cocktails, also the lovely view from your window.
Hi to rock and storm.

Izzie....checking in to see how you're doin'. Gettin' that soft pad for your chair broke in? Looking out your window in that picture, I see green grass! Can't wait till I can look out my window and see that! This month has been a month of extemes in the weather department here. The month of Feb. began with the 5th worst flood in history in my area. That was just 6 months after the worst flood we'd had in a 100 years. People were just getting their lives back and we got hit again. The month of Feb looks like it will end with what has been the biggest snow of the winter so far. Go figure!

Keep your wonderful attitude and precious smile, Izzie. You're an inspiration to us all.

First week of Feb 2008

oops....guess I won't go that way!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/heavens_just_a_kiss_away/winterflood_020608.jpg

Nor that way! Laughing Ya just keep goin' till ya find a road not flooded.

The last week of Feb 2008 (Early this morning)
