Good Morning Guys and Dolls,

I hate to say it but I will be hit and miss today. It is G-baby's 5th birthday today and I am making cupcakes to take to his class this morning and the boys have two costumes due for a Talking Zoo project due tomorrow - so I must finish them as well. I also have to register G for school and make supper for my Father in law who just had knee replacement surgery last week. A lot to do in a little bit of time. My friend from England just called me Izzie...she said that I needed to drop some of this stuff! Heh heh - I don't know how...but we'll see..off to the bus stop!

Just wanted you all to know I was thinkin' bout you and that I may be missing a lot today.

Hugs to all,
mis

Good Morning, Izzie, mismi and BlackTulip, at long last a bit of company on this very cold evening downunder.

Happy Birthday to g-baby, hope you have a lovely day mismi.

Would like you all to know I have tried to persuade TTH to rejoin the crew of the 'yabber-liner', so far unsuccessful but keeping fingers crossed.

Handing over the reins to our beloved Captain. Smile

Thanks for the bike photos and the mug Mizzy.

Until recently I hadnt ridden a bicycle since I was a boy. A dollar a week for the 'Black Beauty' bargain eh? I'm up for one of those...

Biked it in the rain today to meet up with other cycling nuts, retired civil engineer, pharmacist, The Doctor and Deck Chair Dave for lunch.

Doc had been up most of the night trying to listen to a nightingale. Civil engineer got heavily into pile driving...anyway thats another story.

I went down this steep hill and there was traffic backed up at the bottom. The police had closed the road. "Sorry Sir you cant go through there is a major incident ongoing"

Anyway I cycled right up to the policeman and was just engaging him in conversation when guess what? I fell off. Embarrassed mega Embarrassed Right at the front of the queue and surrounded by cops. I was too pre occupied to notice if any were laughing.

I did have an excuse...forgot I was using SPD clips and cleats...my feet were fixed to the pedals. You are supposed to unclip before putting a foot down, but in my excitement of the "major police incident" I forgot I was using them.

Anyway policeman was very good, "are you all right sir?" etc. Bike's ok. Bang on knee which is a bit sore, but legs still work, and wheels go round. Limp-pedalled off with not much more than my dignity dented. Never found out what the "major police incident" was, but proud to have played my part.

Embarrassed Oh CyclingBoy Embarrassed

I really am not laughing..... not a jot ..... not even got a small smile on my face....

AHEM:

NEW TO CYCLING ?

TOECLIPS OR NOT - Not for the beginner. You need to be able to get your feet down quickly. As you get more experienced, you may feel that toeclips or the newer cleats which fasten the cycling shoe directly to the pedal make cycling more comfortable as you can increase the pedal power by pulling up on one pedal at the same time as pushing down with the other. If you decide not to use toeclips, use trainers or shoes with a good grip on the sole or your feet could slip off the pedals in wet weather.

Rolling Eyes

Well - all I can reall say is.... THANK GOODNESS YER DIDN'T HAVE YER MISSUS ONBOARD TOO....

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/csl2383l.jpg

Then there really would have been a "major incident" to deal with a?

(oh hey, like the sound of DeckChair Dave - he could pull up a deck on this deck a?)

smooches x

so laughing!

((((((((((knee better soon))))))))))))
