Howdy ya'll, I was just passing by and called in to say, I was not banned for caring too much! But, I did miss you all terribly…No wait, it was; I didn't terribly miss you much; or, was it I don't care if I was banned? Well whatever; it's good to be back and to catch up on who's been doing what to whome.

However, the stupid system wants' to shut down now for an upgrade, so I hope to catch up with ya'll later; Now Missmi wants' to go shopping…

Good to see you Lzzie!

DAMSELS and KNIGHTS...

http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/6828/stgeorgesdragonflagcnsgh0.jpg

Ode to St George: The True Dragon

To honour St George's Day, English Heritage commissioned Brian Patten the Liverpool poet, to compose a poem celebrating the day.

The True Dragon
St George was out walking
He met a dragon on a hill,
It was wise and wonderful
Too glorious to kill

It slept amongst the wild thyme
Where the oxlips and violets grow
Its skin was a luminous fire
That made the English landscape glow

Its tears were England's crystal rivers
Its breath the mist on England's moors
Its larder was England's orchards,
Its house was without doors

St George was in awe of it
It was a thing apart
He hid the sleeping dragon
Inside every English heart

So on this day let's celebrate
England's valleys full of light,
The green fire of the landscape
Lakes shivering with delight

Let's celebrate St George's Day,
The dragon in repose;
The brilliant lark ascending,
The yew, the oak, the rose

So…. for all the Knights…. and the crew

(sung by a beautiful Welsh lass - Katherine Jenkins) :wink:

The first verse is a reference to England and the sacrifice of those who died during the First World War. The second verse starting, "And there's another country" is a reference to heaven. The final line is based on Proverbs 3:17, which reads in the King James Bible, "Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace." Sung to the tune of Jupiter from Holst's 'The Planet' suite.

I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.

From this English Rose....... Happy St. Georges Day! Smile

Reportin for duty capn izz

What a load of fairies. Must be Chelsea line up.

Decks washed (well it rained didnt it?) and brass polished. 24 miles for breakfast yesterday.

37 miles for lunch today. (in the rain)

Yes I am quite mad.

But the good doctor caught a motorist on her mobile so he followed her into the car park and in his best upper middle class accent gave her a good talking to. She was apparently quite astonished.

Well tonight I have a night off and I'm going to watch Barcelona loose at home to MANCHESTER UNITED. Smile I hope

Hi all,

Hey Try is back, well come aboard, missed your cheery face!

Steve, hope you enjoy the match!

Well where to start with my day! Got my son to school after a he had a bad crying session. Went to work - ok cried there because of son. Got home. decided to mow lawn, fine, then got strimmer out and broke it! Made a vegetable casserole put in what I thought was paprika, no Cayenne pepper lots of it! Opened freezer draw, it flew out and cracked! Electrician here to fix the vent/fan thing in en suite shower room, as he took it out loads of water fell on him! it had been gathering in the loft and he was soaked. So he goes up to the loft to fix it and managed to relocate the pipe! All seemed well until my new washing up bowl came back covered in the dirty water from the loft! but he has fixed the vent! AaaH X

Thanks for the welcome Ladies; it's good to be back on deck.

Tulip, I have those days every day; it's the domino effect; one goes over and takes a whole bunch with it. The trick is to space them a bit further out, and no matter how bad it seems; a glass of wine usually calms things down.

Try stood on the burning deck
And he was all a-quiver
He gave a cough
His leg fell off....
.....And floated down the river!

Ouch! That's gotta hurt!

Good morning crew, the Eagle has landed and what does he see, my backup, tryagain is back on board. Good to see you mate you've been sorely missed, hardly have a feather left to fly with, certain parties have had a feast. Laughing

Nice to see all of you crew contributing your daily experiences. How did Manchester United fare against the Spaniards Steve, can't find a result anywhere!

Going to report to the Captain if I can find her, now she is back on her feet she is somewshat elusive. Where on the ship are you hiding Izzie? :wink:
