I just got beat by an 8 year old in HORSE (basketball). And he is SO stinkin' smug about it! Laughing

Okay...I have been looking for my toga - and I kind of wanted something off of The Gladiator like Lucilla wore...but I can't find anything like that....so I got a sheet from the boys bed and I guess I'll be wrappin' that around me for the party....oh well.

And JPB - I am sneezin' my friggin head off now after playing outside with the boys...shoot.

Thanks RK - those deer are the cutest little things - they were just yards from the patio tonite - being very big and brave. It's lovely seeing them. They usually hide out in the woods - but the grass is definitely greener in the paddock at the moment (hasn't been cut in months Rolling Eyes ) so they are having quite a feast Razz

BLACK PEARL SAILS TO ROME!
THE BLACK PEARL SAILS TO ROME…….

http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/8162/roman20toga20partyjj7.gif

ROMAN NEW YEAR'S EVE - (OK - so it's 3 nite's late or 362 days early for our Vegemite…… but c'mon…… work with me on this…..) Rolling Eyes

BEN HUR……… (k - it's Roman Nite and had to do a bit of Ben….)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=OPNojA5Zi7M&feature=related

nah nah nah nah nah - B'EN going round the world having HURt feet and now……

Chariots of Fire (not running QUITE yet) - we can do anything on this ship...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=rKn9pB8YzKI

and just coz I'm English… "JERUSALEM" - and our chariot of fire…
http://youtube.com/watch?v=73eB-aAo8Eg

SO HERE WE GO……………………………………..

Well looky here….Colosseum comes aboard the Black Pearl…

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/6700/romecolloseumsd5.jpg

The eagle is used in heraldry both as a charge (something drawn on the shield) or as a supporter (something holding the shield up). Parts of the eagle's body such as its head, wings or leg are also used as a crest or charge. In addition, it symbolized immortality, courage, farsightedness and strength. It is considered to be the king of the air and the messenger. Oh BEAgle - that is so YOU!!!!!

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/5104/2romaneaglebbho8.jpg

and....you are so GOLDEN Razz

So…..Bosun BEAgle….. you charged with the following…

How to host a Roman orgy:
As soon as the crew seat themselves, ask them to remove their shoes, and have the deckhands wash our feet before hors d'oeuvres are served. A full banquet should consist of at least seven courses. For starters, try dormice rolled in honey and poppy seeds, a favorite of Trimalchio, the unfrugal gourmet of Petronius's Satyricon. As an entree, you might offer the "Shield of Minerva the Protectress," invented to tickle the gluttony-dulled palate of Emperor Vitellius: The recipe calls for pike livers, pheasant and peacock brains, flamingo tongues and lamprey milt. (You'd better hope none of the crew asks what "milt" is.) Sow udders were another popular Roman delicacy, especially when the sow had been fattened on figs. Next, dazzle the crew with a "Trojan pig": a roast pig stuffed as full of other creatures--live quail, in the case of Trimalchio's famous dinner--as the mythical horse was of Greeks.

Since the Romans ate mostly with their fingers, dinner will be pretty greasy. Good table manners called for diners to throw bones, shells and cores on the floor. You should, however, send deckhands around with ewers of perfumed water to wash crews' hands between courses; the very height of elegance was to use pretty slave boys from Asia Minor on whose long hair guests could dry their hands."

Who knew a?

Please can all crew deposit a Roman Coin into the Lighthouse Coin Bank in aid of the "Screaming Eagle" bottle of wine for 200K posts as previously informed! Thanku.

Denarius minted by Mark Antony to pay his legions - (there's our BEAgle flying)
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/2117/300pxdenariusmarkanthonbp8.jpg

" CREW, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears" …

Now we are in Rome and we're all set for an Org….PARTY!!!

Now, I hope that the crew will all join in the festivities. Trusting that our Roman Regal BEAgle and our THINK PINK/BLUE (pen the GOAT Pinky and put on a TOGA baby) crew will be onboard to take care of any stray ASPs that may required, handling with the utmost of care.

I'm off to see if I can find myself a bath of milk to soak in and make like a Cleopatra (heck, it's all Greek to me!!!!)

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/8274/bigcleopatras20bath20midx0.jpg

(oh - any jacka$$es around to offer any milk a? a? a? that'll be coco Laughing )

Oh slaves…..can you bring the girlies some grapes please and feed us. Oh Oh Oh - and I would LOVE a foot massage……………………..

And while we are ROAMing….on a ROMAN HOLIDAY

Don't get ya hand bitten off by the Mouth Of Truth

or drive a vespa without laughing a lot

or walk away..

(oh alright crew - I was just having one of those Audrey Hepburn moments!!!!! Rolling Eyes Indulge me! - k - back to the party a?....)

Romeo, Romeo - wherefore art thou Romeo Question
Oh what a shame.... how dire straits...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPgbhDEzrxY

TTHun - looking out for you Beautiful Water Nymph - can you find my Romeo please……. Question

PINK - Get The Party Started! Twisted Evil

http://youtube.com/watch?v=rTlWqW6fSYc

http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/1663/rhan782lua0.jpg

And….. on that note…. Fortune! (alright - I have to do a philosoffffffical bit) Idea

William Shakespeare - Julius Caesar Act IV, scene ii

"There is a tide in the affairs of men, Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures."

This philosophy seems wise; it contains a certain beauty as well, suggesting that while we do not have total control over our lives, we do have a responsibility to take what few measures we can to live nobly and honorably.
Just gotta keep on plugging away a?

Nothing is ever forgotten, long journey to go and full steam ahead….

Nothing is trivial…..ever

and here's our RH-DJ

http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/3659/grin251lhq7.jpg

So now you all do know how seriously off the planet I am…. For 24 hours I am Cleopatra In Space Very Happy just reaching for the stars....

http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/6103/cleopatraanw2.jpg

HAPPY WEDNESDAY FOLKS! Very Happy

Crew - You are the Very Best!

p.s. milt
-noun
1. the sperm-containing secretion of the testes of fishes.
2. the testes and sperm ducts when filled with this secretion.

BEAgle - have you been a SEAgle lately and fishing a?????????????????
