@spendius,
Man Spendius........... When will you learn? Women know how to bring up children more than men do, well even a man will tell you that, it's called intuition and all. She's doing real good, giving them variety, I did not read anything about being couch potatoes, on computers, ...................etc............Smile

Hi Spendius...... Glad for your wishes of Danny and respecting the crew and standing with them......Nice post..........thankyou read it and thought, go Spendi.. finally you show your ware..............................

@mismi,
Bah......really already lols. Oh dear, I was thinking out loud but being twins.... But seriously it can happen but as they get older I am sure they will have different tastes and you won't have to worry Wink

I have "adopted" of sorts, children. Funny I always wanted a girl then I remember me,Smile shhhh ...................no,..............a boy would have been better, love my adopted kids and fortunately they were above teens, in trouble but now well on their way.....

I sound like a dick but true. For Months I have been wanting to read a book, finally today I said enough of work and so, I did.

James Patterson.....Private. Anyways, I swear can copy and paste, I am reading and one of the characters is called Danny... Laughed. Then as I read further 1/3 into the book, another guy called his lady "witch" "my nickname" well so be it, a message to all, I think...........He knows, of all of our love.

Wishing you all a beautiful day.. .for me sleep.................

Oh yeah!! I wouldn't let a kid of mine anywhere near computers. Couches are okay though. Ever heard of cycling or swimming or football or cricket or snooker or darts or climbing trees. Mums are for making dinners and beds and bathing wounds. Most of them don't even read books and the ones who do are derailed by romantic fiction.

I was brought up don't you know. I have some experience of the process. Mums just want a lad to bring glory to the family genes. They want us to wash our necks and pull our socks up and be good little boys.

Quote:
Don't be a good little, good little boy,
Being as good as you can,
And agreeing with all the mealy mouthed, mealy mouthed truths
The sly trot out
And their greedy mouthed, greedy mouthed cowardice,
Every old lout.

D, H. Lawrence.

Me and Dutch go back 9 years on Trivia. He has thumbed me up hundreds of times. I'm rooting for him on my own account.

This man won't. I've done a brilliant job of bringing my kids up, a lot better that most of the single mums in my area.

@ehBeth,
If we're sending shots of picnic spots to cheer up Dutchy, I'll add some pictures of the New Forest, just a few miles down the road from Southampton.

That's the sort of generalisation that darkens my day - depressing!

Found Soul - hope you managed to get some sleep. Enjoy your book!

@mismi,
Just had a look at the University of Florida link you directed me to. Thank you - it makes good sense. Our dogs are always wormed quarterly with round and tapewormer tablets we obtain from their vets, so hopefully that wouldn't be a problem. Sawdust is simple but sounds effective - have passed the link on to loads of friends!

9 years. That's a long time and it's still nice that you are rooting for him.. I've thumbed you up a couple of times Wink

@vonny,
Hi, Vonny - that's from Central Park in New York City. I've been there a few times, as an eight year old kid, probably just in a car, and as a zillion year old woman walking across it from the Whitney Museum to my fancy hotel, the YMCA, on the other side of the park, and getting confused. My sense of direction is pretty good (compared to other senses and others' sense of direction) but I started to be in a hurry to meet some a2k pals and was befuddled. I was saved by a woman passing by (business suit, briefcase, sneakers) who showed me a tree to head for..

And Katy woofs hi to vonny. Literally, as it happens.

Mc Tag:- I had to read your first post twice, whilst laughing Smile

Isn't it funny how we can read into things Wink

I did sleep well Vonny, need more though... Or less work and more reading or something...

Glad to see some great photos again.. This one doesn't relate to anything really but I think it's stunning.. Squid in Japan that light up at night...

@ossobuco,
My Megan woofs a return greeting to Katy! What a loud woof the girl has - sounds very ferocious, but in reality she's a cuddly yellow teddy bear of a dog.

I thought it looked like Central Park - but I've only seen it in books and films - never been lucky enough to visit the USA. Sense of direction? I have none in the city, but can find my way anywhere in the country - doesn't make sense!

@FOUND SOUL,
It is stunning - breathtakingly beautiful. Nature is pretty wonderful. I love the contrasts of light and dark. Wish I was a photographer - I've had cameras since I was four or five, but have never been more than a snapper. It must be very rewarding to take shots like this.
