Howdy and welcome Vonny. Dear Dutchy is our official greeter, but he is somewhat indisposed at the moment due in part to the pressure of his duties.
As the official stowaway may I cordially invite you to join this motley crew; my hope is you hail from the land of milk and honey - Australia!
If so, we need a few details for the ships log; so if you will follow me to the sauna I will take down a few particulars!
One word of caution: lookout for the chief security officer by the name of JW, he can be a bit frisky!
Just saying… you will find a great bunch of people here who I’m sure will give you a warm welcome.
Good to have you on board; as long as it is not the same board being used by those with bad backs! I don’t know why they lie on them; I sit on a chair when giving evidence to a Grand Jury and I can lie just fine!
I wanted to say welcome earlier but I'm not a Constant Poster here and stepped aside, waiting for my betters (just read the Constant Gardener, there was a book).
Osso, I liked the movie; didn't read the book. Mr B is a big Le Carre fan. He's less thrilled with the post-cold war books than the older ones. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is his favorite. The Spy Who Came In From the Cold is another. And then there's Smiley's People. (He's sitting here rattling them off to me as I type).

@ossobuco,
I'm sure Dutchy would be pleased to know Try is stepping up as greeter/flirter until he can get back to his duties! Welcome Vonny.
Izzie thanks for the continued updates. Will be so glad when our Dutchy gets over this bump in the road.

I am JW, Vonny. Normally, I am patrolling the waters to keep stowaways like Tryagain from sneaking on board.
May I ask everyone to kick his erm AZZ? He now is going in at 9.30am instead of 11am.. Computers lost his data today so he attended only to be sent home and he's not a happy chappy
When I say kick his AZZ he needs to understand they are "BRILLIANT" at what they do there, and so another delay for him and another day of hickups and so, feeling down.
NO, NO, NO, no such thing Mr Dutchy sheeeeeeeeeez just a hickup like ya said.
So, maybe tomorrow is the last I shall hear from him and dear IZZIE will up-date you, that is my hope cause they gotta get going, cause he is SO ready for walking more and faster I mean gawd his cheekiness is friggen too fast for his age yes ?
So..................Yes Danny you are going to be OK.................................

@FOUND SOUL,
Well, I don't wonder that you're feeling down, Danny, but what good does that do you, eh?
Gotta roll with the punches that are thrown sometimes. Frustrating, surely, but you'll be right as rain as soon as the hiccups get covered.
Hopefully all will go as planned today and you'll be back on schedule.
<i don't blame you a bit.>

@FOUND SOUL,
Good morning from Toronto.
Had a good call with hamburgboy last night - he's missing our Danny Boy and their side conversations on some of the word games. He's sending great positive thoughts to the Bosun along with the rest of the crew.
Computer upgrades call ... see you all later!

Greetings all
Must be time of year here. I've also spent the last week in hospital. Had some emergency surgery and hope to be out in a day or two. Fortunately not as serious as D
Help - I want to get on board! How do I go about it?
You've boarded and you iz on! Welcome to the Ship!
We're anchored up in Adelaide for the forseeable and waiting on our Bosun to return... mind you, having just read about our Margo's little ERexpedition, we may have to pop back up to NSW or send up the butler...
alternatively, this Butler would be rather nice to have around
<my bad, before the watershed>
I do believe you are a crossword puzzler, Vonny, hailing from the UK! If that is correct - wrap up warm... we're about to go into the deep freeze on Friday! Welcome aboard!
Bethie – Soooooooooooup – mmm mmmm mmmmm
I’m thinking Boida and Margo could be doing with some chook soup, and I fancy that the Bosun would enjoy some too.
<passes ladle>
I do like a board game – heh heh!
Love to Hbg and the Canajun crew. Do hope that you’ve been upgraded, Bethie! xxx
((Osso)) – the only betters hereupon said ship and cruisin’ vessel... are the “GET BETTERS” to them that be poorly.
<the rest of iz all eekwuhls >
JPBirthday Gal... I do hope you had thee best birthday and that you were thoroughly spoiled. Mucho big hugs and love xxxx (oh no on the Tesco order, darned nutella yumyumyumyumyum)
Stormy – yep, it’s a bit of long road to DannyBoy at the mo... with lots of support from Home And Away, I am sure he will do everything he can to join us back on board soonest. Hope all is well out there and that you haven’t had to do too much snow-ploughing (I am so, so hoping we get a little bit of the white stuff over the weekend, it's looking as tho we might get a dusting woot woot). x
jw – have ordered you a new speedboat
just don’t be getting any tickets, unless they are to see Les Mis, and then you can send them over here because I am so desperate to go and see it. Mebbe this weekend. Give Annie a hug from me. x
FS – I am very much hoping that Danny will get the go-ahead today for the surgery too. I know Tuesday took a lot of him and he’s just so tired; 4 appointments in 4 days is just too much for him at the moment, especially when mistakes are made. So.frustrating. On t’other hand, all these appointments are so necessary. So – gotta get on with it I’m just so pleased they are close to the hospital so there is little travelling involved. Thank goodness for that. I know he will be looking forward to seeing you Kel when he's got this nip and tuck out the way. x
Fortunately, our DannyDownUnder is still retaining his sense of humour , has had visitors around breifly, was able to sit outside for a bit (admiring his lemons ) and iz fighting on ~ and ... well, I am HOPING right now, HOPING that this time next week, he will be starting to recover and the surgery will be out of the way. <the sooner he’s back on the deck and getting on with his chores (ya know, someone has to dance with me ) the better>
Everyone’s messages are reaching him and please, keep them coming, keep the positive thoughts going. He’s so very thankful to each and every one of you for your good wishes and prayers.
Boida... I know your surgery is postponed for tomorrow – it will be easier once the asthma is under control. We’re thinking about you – a lump day is a good plan goil. Go (lump) Loimp! Wishing you better with heaps of love xxxxxxx
Missy – PaPa chemo-bout on Friday and I guess you’ll be going down to them soon after if you’re able to. Let us know when you can, how you’re doing Dixie. love you much(((((((((((Missy))))))))))))))x
I note that our First Mate has been onboard too. Good Afternoon Blue. Now, Mr T.R.Yagain, Special Agent jw has reported to me that you have been perplexing his perpendiculars of late
BLUE: “jw, Any ideas what this crossword clue might be? It's got 5 letters: 'Figure Formed By Two Sides Meeting At A Vertex.' "
SPECIAL AGENT JW -"Try angle."
BLUE -"BBBBbbbbWWWWWwwwwAAaHHHHHhhahhaaha, No, they have three sides”
You iz so naughty! - <smooches Blue, fans’elf > Come bavk soon, baby!
Margo – Shelia Goil – good grief. One minute we’re talking, then you’re off to the ER. Wishing you wellness and sending you a big ‘ole hug to get you bavk home and up and running... well, tennissing. GET BETTER SOON Margo!x
Now, as for the Butler heading up to Sydney... there can only be one song !
I am indeed a crossword puzzler, female, hailing from the UK - and I'd love some of that hot soup, jolly cold here! I'm overwhelmed by the warm welcome - shall warm my cold British bones in the reflected heat - thank you! The Yabber-Liner sounds just the ticket to sail away on from these frosty shores. Thanks to you all. Looking forward to some good journeys and some fine conversation - and a few friendly arguments along the way.
Chorus
Oh, the days of the Kerry dancing
Oh, the ring of the piper's tune
Oh, for one of those hours of gladness
Gone, alas, like our youth, too soon!
When the boys began to gather
In the glen of a summer's night
And the Kerry piper's tuning
Made us long with wild delight!
Oh, to think of it
Oh, to dream of it
Fills my heart with tears!
just don’t be getting any tickets, unless they are to see Les Mis, and then you can send them over here because I am so desperate to go and see it. Mebbe this weekend. Give Annie a hug from me. x
Thanks for the great speedboat, Izzie. My arms were getting tired.
Annie is 13 now, a teenager!!! She uses an e-mail service that originates in China so that she can keep in contact with her grandfather in Shanghai. Teenagers in China use very unique emoticons. I have been borrowing some from Annie.

Itz always good to go for a sail!
<OK, so Charlie (that's FQsis) likes to go to a good sale! Moi, I'd rather be on yacht and away from crowds >
You'll find a few Brits on board - and with a worldwide crew, the more the merrier.
Stay warm, Vonny, the temps are going low tonight! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
