@ehBeth,

Do all American Mexican waves wave clockwise?

I'm pretty sure most of ours go the other way...but should this be a surprise?

I know, your comments about my daughter's pictures of the torch passing through Southampton were not appreciated, but I suppose everything's alright now.

I don't believe I made any such comment.
I looked for the post you referred to, but I didn't find it.

I said I had no interest in the progress of the Olympic torch, and all the hype and hoo-hah (to say nothing of the commercial promotions) surrounding that.

That is still the case, but I imagine your daughters' pictures are delightful.

By the way, did you see how Mo Farah's wife was told to lose the FLY-MO banner? Commercial interests rule the proceedings with an iron hand.

By the way, why did you take a negative slant on a very positive post? Have you got indigestion today?

@McTag,
really no idea

I'd never heard of the term Mexican Wave til it came up on Youtube

In Canada we just call it the Wave. I've seen it go both waves, but at the amjor league baseball stadium here it seems to run clockwise the majority of the time.

@McTag,
After I posted my daughter's picture this is what you posted.

Am I in a very small minority, when I don't give a stuff about the progress of the Olympic Flame, of the games themselves?

I really don't. I think they are a bad idea, best held somewhere else, if at all.

Which considering I had just posted my daughter's picture is, I think, in very bad taste.

@izzythepush,

Okay I was wrong, and considering the excellent effect of the games, a poor judge.

I apologise for any offence caused to you personally. Thank you for pointing this out.
I hope you realise that my original remark was not directed at you.

@McTag,
Alright, maybe I was being a bit touchy, but your post was the first response to my daughter's photo, it wouldn't have been so bad if it had been the 3rd or 4th.

I accept your apology, we're friends again.

About half the Sydney Organising Committee moved to London to work for the duration. Lots of experience!

Go Oz!

And did you see the temporary departure lounge they built at Heathrow for the departing teams? A nice touch.

@ehBeth,
I like going slow and easy - the canoe I think. I would like to be wearing something less restrictive to be sure. Wink

@mismi,
Thank you for lovely photos ehBeth, like mismi I like to take it easy nowadays, however I wouldn't mind making an exception and go white water rafting with the last lady, a real challenge I reckon to keep the canoe balanced. Wink
