@Tryagain,
Hello Crew

11/11/11

Armistice Day about to dawn

not just another day

For the Fallen and the Silent Fallen, for all those who serve to fight for our freedom and peace...

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain,
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

Earlier, a super stunning full moon appeared from behind the now shrouded clouds. Thoughts to Noddy, absent friends and moonbeams that are there shining brightly... somewhere.

Permission to come back on board?

The McTags are back online with a warp-speed computer. Boy, am I impressed. Such a difference from the former steam-driven model; a real pleasure to use.
And with a wireless router, root toot toot, who knows, we may furnish ourselves with a laptop ere Crimbo, too.

@McTag,

Not a lot happening here. No doubt you are all leading fruitful, productive and rewarding lives, unlike me.

The cabin boy has gone down to Covent Garden to see an opera. So I'll go to bed early with a good book.
Enjoyed playing some Handel this morning with the band- For Unto Us a Child is Born from The Messiah. Good tune.

@McTag,

My goodness. Where are the Yabberers? I hope everyone is okay.

Typical innit. I get a faster computer, and everyone leaves like ManU supporters when their team is 1-4 down.

@verbivore,

It refers to a bit in Romeo and Juliet.

Juliet wishes Romeo did not belong to the family who are enemies of her own. A feud is going on. This causes them big problems.

So she says: "....Wherefore (why) art thou Romeo? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet...."

I see I left a key piece of the jigsaw out...

"Wherefore art thou Romeo?...What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
