Hello Crew

Have had the most wonderful few days with my sis, bro and kids and they’re safely back home in Essex now. We did soooooo much – it’s been brilliant <sigh>

A year ago Charlie was dx with BC. We had such big plans to climb Snowdon this August to raise funds for the BC and Autism charity – but with my little blip and some other things happening, it wasn’t going to be possible this year – however, we all took a walk up Brentor (our mountain for this year ) It was sooooo windy and pretty chilly, had been raining all day, but the weather broke for enough time for us to walk up and down without us getting drenched. It was fab.







Well, there’s nothing so good as having our own personal flyby – something very special happened… the power of positive thought when he thought it may not happen









The crew circled us twice... really, can't tell you how special it was




Now, you’ll not see that verra often! “Just Jane” flew over us – we believe this is the only remaining Lancaster flying in the world – so… it was pretty special – moreso as we had our “forces” with us at the time – in person and spirit.

Anyhoo – we did girlie shopping – yes yes, I know, I don’t do shopping – but Saturday was an exception to the rule. Charlie and I laughed ourselves into mild hysteria as we tried on every hat available. Ha! One day I shall post the hats I now own for when I decide to take up photography again – I have a beach hat for the cold, cold wet weather and a Bethie 1920’s flapper hat… my own tea cosy!!!! Laughed… pass the incontinence pads.

So, had a coupla G&T’s on Saturday – oh my … y’all can prolly sink a glass or two, but as I don’t drink <ahem> it went straight to my cheeks.

Sunday, we went to the Peter Tavy with bro’s parents and then had a cream tea at home and sitting in the garden. Unfortunately, I got a seriously bad case of the giggles where I only had to look at K-bro and that was it

It was a perfect weekend – we so wish it would never end – we’re planning on making that happen.

I now have a Singing Butler over my mantelpiece – makes me feel the sand beneath my toes!

Exhausted now… missing Charlie madly but so pleased we spent a whole 4 days together – she’ll be down again before Crimbo.

S-boy has gone to Tulip tonight as they took a trip to the beach today. I've been mowing the lawns and catching up on some chores.

My black cat looks like he has ripped his third eyelid again – need to get him to the vet first thing in the morning – he’s not in pain, but he can’t open his eye and when I look, it’s all raggedy again… nasty - makes me sad - do hope they don't need to operate again.

If you come across the pond... my house is yours hun - just let me know when! Hoping life is being gentle with you darlin' and you've been able to cook all your produce this summer. I have sloes and elder flowers, blackberries and some strawberries - I just know you'd be able to do something good with them... me... not a clue. K-bro is going to do some sloe gin and is some wine... so, that should be interesting. We've had massive rain here - buckets and buckets - tho it was superstunning today and warm. We're heading into the Autumn now, the skies have been crystal clear for the last two nights - so black and the stars have been shining brightly.

Hiya Iz - I am fine. Things are crazy but good. That's fairly normal. J is in travel ball. G just started fall ball and S is drumming those drums - all.the.time.

Had a sad week. Sang at a memorial for a friends dad that passed away last week. Sweet friend died unexpectedly last night and my sweet older friend (she is 83) just found out she has stage 4 lung cancer. Breaks my heart. Precious folks. Don't always understand why these things seem to happen in bunches...but my heart is full today. Made me want to come and say hello to you all and let you know how special you all are. Blessed to have you here.

So glad you and FQ had a wonderful time. Love you both so much! ((Izzie))

Ah Mis, I know when you sang t'other day at the Memorial - it would have been the sweetest sound straight from your soul,and they would all have been so proud of you. You are an angel, sweet Dixie. So sorry about the losses you are experiencing in your life... we start to question our mortality at these times. Live life to the full in remembrance of those you have loved and cared for.

Yep, busy times for you... I'm glad you are coping as best you can - I start back at work a week today - I know it's going to be a tough term and I'm not looking forward to the fatigue again. I'm sleeping very badly at the moment - even with the potion - but 'eh, gotta keep going as we do.

Love you millions Dixie - so happy to see you, miss seeing you too but completely understand all the commitments you have. Love those boyz for me and tell them Aunty Iz send bunches of hugs to them.

Hey JPB - with you all the way girl - didn't wanna come and be gushy on your thread ... you know... in a mega gushy mode right now - but don't wanna go and throw in too much mush. I love you much girl. Yep, this 5 weeks have gone so quickly and next term is a long one... do you know, it was dark by 8.30pm last night... OH MY... gotta start thinking about getting logs in and all that. Can't wait for the new doors and conservatory as that will retain so much more heat.

Poor ole black kitty is feeling a tad sorry for himself and his eye is weeping a bit... looks nasty... he's always in a rumble tumble or another !

sooooooooooooo... I gotta tell y'all something

My foot is ... hmmmmmmm... weird. Wired too, but WEIRD. Now, I don't know how, I mean, physically it should be impossible, BUT, I managed to put on heels today... AND WALKED IN THEM. I was having a bit of a moment whilst trying on my new jeans and had a bit of an 'ahhhhhh, I wish I could wear heels' - so grabbed them outta the 'drobe, and lo and behold... I grew to 5'7" and stomped some.

I don't know how that's possible, being that my Happy Feet are fused and I'm a pingu.

Anyhoo - I just wanted to say that out loud because it made me smile HUGE!

<not that I think I could wear them for very long or walk very far, but ... I wore my high heeled boots in the house today and my foot changed shape - amazing, gobsmacked!>

Other than that, absolutely nothing to tell y'all at all

heh heh, I do kinda feel a bit like a kid right now. I'm so used to being a flat foot that putting a heel on is rather like opening an unexpected gift. Havta go and get my new orthotics in a couple weeks but that'll be good really as my marbles do keep popping out underneath my toots so it's quite nice walking on soft carpet. When Charlie and I were out on Saturday we were pottering around a mall for a couple hours - since then I've had constant pain up my shins (not shooting pains and not on the bone, more like pulled muscle pain on both legs) - was thinking about what you said about walking on the pavement (shoulder)... hmmmm Can't complain tho - the 'ole body (jointwise) is holding up remarkably well right now - tho the fatigue hit me bigtime yesterday and today. Bl**dy KNACKERED.

Iz, How's the black PC. Is his eye better. I worry.

Hey Boida... well, he opened his eye this morning and all looked to be alright! I panicked a little this morning because he didn't come in for his brekkie when I whistled and was then kicking myself in case he'd got hurt and I hadn't kept him in - but he came in a little later and ate well, none the worse for wear. I've kept him in all day in the music room in case it started weeping again. He's slept the WHOLE day curled up on chair but he does appear to be blinking perfectly normally and I can see his whole big green eye - whereas yesterday, the third eyelid was showing and looked peculiar. Of course, as I don't normally see the third eyelid, I wonder if it's raggedy from where it was stitched together last time. Definitely not weepy today tho like it was last night.

He's just eaten the dawgs food (naughty kitty!) and has gone chasing after Murphy through the cat flap - so... hopefully, all is well. He does worry me as he likes to rugby tackle and rough and tumble with Murphy. They are both incorrigible

Thank you for asking after him - he does love you very much ya know
